OHL officials are pretty consistently not very good at their job. Every single person on this entire website, no matter which team you follow, has seen that first hand countless times I'm sure
Very true. All I'm saying is that I'll take the word of two officials who carefully reviewed the replay and after deliberating assessed a blindsiding call under rule 48.3. I also agreed with their call, and people who know me on this board know I call it as I see it. Following Voltaire, I'll say I don't agree with your opinion, but I would defend your right to express it.

After that game, I am very confident the Spitfires would beat London in a series with a full lineup. Spitfires played that game without 2 of their top 6 forwards and 2 of their top 4 d-man (after Dionicio got ejected). They also had a 5 min major to work with and two different two-man advantages that were each at least 90 seconds.

I thought Wright was solid, he set up Peer twice point-blank in front of the net in the 1st period, have to think if that was Harrison he would have converted on one of those.

They really missed Dionicio and Harrison in OT. Just an embarrassment of a call on Dionicio. Puck is right there, he hits the guy with his shoulder and gets 5 and a game? Spitfires spent a grand total of 30 seconds of time on the powerplay. Just garbage reffing. With Harrison, Abraham, Sobolev and Dionicio in the lineup, the Spitfires win that game.

A few quick thoughts...

- The Dionicio hit didn't look great but I haven't talked to one person tonight who believed it was worthy of 5/GM. I know the officials looked at it for a long, long time but we all know that officiating is sketchy at times. We'll see how the league sorts it out. I haven't seen the replay but it was certainly a hot topic afterwards.
- That was as close of a game as you'll see. When you're six deep in a SO, what more can you ask for?
- Harrison was out tonight and they definitely missed his offence. Hopefully he's back by Saturday. Carson Woodall would be called up if needed.
- Costanzo was a rock. They haven't had a young goaltender like this since DiPietro.
- Not the most physical game but the players stood up for each other when needed. The rivalry is alive.
- The Spitfires definitely miss Abraham and Sobolev... and rumour is Sobo could return on Saturday. We'll see.
- Both teams played very strong, tight games so there wasn't much room for anyone to work. That's what you expect from a game like this, though.
- London goes up two points on Windsor, each with two games left this weekend. Nobody can say this isn't fun.

Whenever you hear a rumour around the WFCU when a player could be returning, add two weeks to that rumour's timeline. I remember an article by Parker a month ago that stated Soblev would be back in a week. That was 1 month ago...

Question on attendance, the OHL site shows 6200 which is almost a sell out, but this was the crowd during the shootout of a 1st place battle between decades long rivals. Is it a Thursday thing? Or are there just a ton of corporate seats that go unused all the time?

Edit: Nevermind, When I zoom in a bit more what looked like empty seats just appears to be a large number of fans wearing black. Odd the way the camera’s pick things up some times

It could be nothing but I trust the person knows a bit more than I do lol

I know on the Spitfires' ticket site, every seat was listed as sold except for the top few rows in the far east end.

There was some empty seats but definitely at least 6,000 in the building.

Actually I heard at the rink the reason they the 2 officials you wrote about took so much time was that the tablet they were viewing kept freezing up so they let the call on the ice stand.
Mistake should not have been 5 and a game, specially with no injury on the play,2 minutes max.
Now they killed the penalty off but lost their best dman for the rest of the night.
Dionicio- has been their best dman since the trade deadline, having him out,to go along with the others out made it more challenging, Knights caught a break.
And Easton Cowan what a beauty jumps Maillet who had 4 minutes all year before tonight, never in a fight and gets bullied.
Zero respect for Cowan, what a disgrace, should have been tossed for bullying.
OHL is a joke.

Jinxed, I tell you.....and you know who to thank .:D
Actually I have been quite explicit in saying that Joey Costanzo has yet to lose a home game this year in regulation and after tonight that's still the case.
He now is 10-0-0-2 at home so far.
Wonder if Windsor and London wind up tied in points at seasons end,and we all know Windsor gets the tie breaker because of ROW,regulation and OT wins only counted, shootouts,if you will grace us on this forum with your presence.
Karma may be a bitch.

What is this soccer? Who cares who finishes first. It’s the playoffs that count.

Don't tell the Knights fans that, they told me on their board they were missing key guys too, umm no they weren't.
We have 2 okay forwards out. Nothing major. Remind me who you guys have out again? I haven’t seen anyone mention it yet.

What does soccer have to do with this?

Finishing first allows home ice throughout the West Conf playoffs. It's kind of a big deal.

That said.....

Just saw the Dionicio hit on replay. It was shoulder-on-shoulder and George looked back at the last second. Give two minutes at best and call it a day. Any suspension would be face-palm worthy.

Ok genius remind the folks how London did in the 1st round of the playoffs last year against Kitchener.
Maybe if you had finished higher, ie 1st perhaps you might have won.
Teams want to finish 1st for home ice rights throughout the playoffs

We would get Kitchener again if we finish first. I’m not so sure they want that.

Abraham, Harrison, Sobolev, and Spellacy - who have combined for 121 point this season. Whether anyone likes it or not, those are four important players. Add in Dionicio and...
I was joking. You guys can’t stop talking about who was out. Just relax we know you have a good team.

I'm quite relaxed. I was simply answering the question. Throw up a ";)" or "LOL" if you want to say it's a joke.

When you have players out almost the entire season, yes, it's going to come up often in conversation. Even the fans tonight kind of moaned when they found out Harrison was out. "Here we go again..."

Sounds like you're doubling down, and want the jinx extended to a regulation time loss ? It's now inevitable. As of right now, London just has to maintain their lead, to make any tie breaker meaningless. It's going to be tougher, playing from behind, but good luck the rest of the way. BTW, I happen to agree that Karma is a bitch !;)

We don’t need people giving us the injury list in the Knights thread and whining that you should have won. I think you guys have a better full roster but every team gets bad injury luck some years.
