OHL website under the lines tab. Admittedly I’ve paid zero attention to the Guelph Goalie situation this season. Seems weird to rest him when the difference could be, vs. Sarnia or Vs Saginaw.
Yeah, rest is one thing - have him as back up. This is far more concerning. I follow along closely and have heard nothing about injury so hopefully he just couldn't make the road trip for whatever reason.

Edit to add: Leaver is the starter "vet", Gillespie is a rookie who was called up after the deadline trades and earned the backup role.

He’s got good numbers for a rookie, and his looked good tonight IMO. No hard feelings towards the Storm. Hope leaves is good to go for the playoffs. Although I do love seeing Chad Wiseman all fired up on the bench lol.

Fingers crossed Renwick returns. He’s not our #1 D man, and he’s not a Forward… but he hasn’t been back since crashing into the net and didn’t serve his penalty. Can’t afford to be down someone else.

Sobolev possibly suspended for 4th fight? He was instigated upon though.

Renwick out , yikes.

The rule is 3 fights regardless of who instigated it from what I read. Then 2 game suspension for each subsequent fight. I've always said it should be 3 instigating fights. Why penalize a player for protecting himself. 🤔

It doesn't count against your 3 if the other player gets instigating. Learned that with Hatcher a few years ago lol. Probably had 10 fights because of instigators.
You are correct I found that fine print. Thank you for clarifying that.

Wtf was Dangelis doing deep in the O zone with a 3-0 lead this late in the 3rd???? Cost JC another shutout. Play your fing position and try to protect a lead. Just once.

Solid win to start these final games. Hoping Renwick is just shaken up and not out. JC solid as hell. Savard better learn quick who the #1 goalie is since he constantly back peddles on that. Team plays more loose and confident with JC in the crease. Not rocket science to the fans. Any good coach let's the stats speak for themselves by rewarding great consistent performance. Go Spits!@

Good to get the win! ..... Defense is going to be an issue next 2 games and playoffs no doubt. Gotta start scoring more goals if the Spits want clinch 1st overall.

I thought the squad was solid, only gave up 28 shots. Man, Costanzo is clearly the better goalie and it's not even close. He NEEDS to be the starter Friday night in London, if not, the coach is sabotaging his own team. It shouldn't even be up for debate, but the fans have no clue who he is going to have in the net. He's one of those goalies that makes the challenging saves look easy. He's fifth in GAA and his save % is now up to .900, only 5 other goalies in the league have a save % of at least. 900.

Of course another game with an injury, Renwick injured, wasn't putting any weight on his leg. They might say it's a cautionary thing, but they said that about Wright and he missed a month. If Renwick were to miss Friday's game it would be a huge loss.

Great play by Wright to set up that Castle penalty shot. Also, the insurance goal was a beauty on a great passing play with Morneau and Wright.

The Spits didn't have full say in Wright, though. If I'm told it's precautionary, I'm accepting that.
Renwick left on his own power and it didn’t really look that weird. I was also thinking, up 3-0 against a low seed halfway thru the game. A bump or bruise, rest him for this weekend. If he’s out this weekend, it is concerning.

Costanzo’s given up 1 goal in his last 120 minutes of play. I’m riding Joey Friday on a full day of rest. A W at Budweiser Gardens and we’ve clinched the division and the conference, regardless of what everyone else does.

Should also note, Kitchener slid up to 6th with the tie breaker today. I’d love Flint & Kitchener to finish 5/6. OS/Guelph I think are both favorable opponents.

Then you give Onuska the Saturday night home start. Sold out crowd. All the thanks for his performance last year as a spitfire and take #33 into the playoffs.

We lose at Budweiser Gardens Friday, Joey deserves that start Saturday as a rebound game. I know you don’t want to hurt feelings. It seems Onuska is well liked in the room and the organization, but there’s no better time to clarify the #1 goalie then the weekend before playoffs.

Costanzo’s been tracking the puck well, his positioning is great, and he looks calm amongst the chaos.

This feels redundant since I don’t think there’s a single party here arguing Onuska should be the starter, unless they’re playing against us.

Some thoughts on this one...

- Costanzo is the starter. Let's just admit it now. Onuska has the experience, which will be valuable, but the youngster has done everything to prove he can be #1.
- That said... I know Savard is still hoping Onuska can find his 2021-22 form. I'm not getting good feelings about his willingness to pick one.
- Windsor jumps out to the lead and never really looks back. They needed that after the Soo game. You can't come onto home ice and lay an egg, esp in this situation.
- If you told me Sobolev and Christo would get into fights tonight, I'd have told you to stick to decaf. But, here we are. Now... don't let it happen again haha
- I know fans were getting irritated with the PP but they had plenty of looks and sometimes you have to give a hat tip to the opponents. Guelph played well on the PK.
- After Wright's goal, he pointed at Morneau for several seconds to give him props. You have to love that!

So, here's the playoff situation...

- Windsor's up four points on Ldn, five on Sarnia. A point in the next two gets them the division. Two points get them the conference. Take care of business.
