Selfishly hoping for Wyatt Johnston to be snake bitten up in the nhl. Hes been playing good but has been pointless in last few games, also if Dallas starts too crap the bed before the 40 game mark, you just never know. Realistic I want Wyatt to dominate and win the Calder, it's always fun and a good feeling to watch former Spitfires succeed at the NHL level. Either way I'm pretty confident in this squad. And TBH I'm about as confident in Onuska as last season/playoffs, I truly believe Savard has over hyped him the past two years, numbers do not lie he has never been an elite goalie in this league, Medina level skill with a more of a yes man attitude which gets you places sometimes in this league, Onuska just listens to what the coaches are saying and he continues to be the guy. I dont know if anything will change this season and that's even if we dont see better statistical numbers. Mark savard has these boys playing run and gun hockey, score first mentality and play d in between lol. It's been working as the last two years this team has exceeded expectations and then some. But let's see how this season transcends, last year if we had another big save or two In the Hamilton series I think you potentially see a different champ, the spitfires were the only team to hang with the Bulldogs, but when it came done to it, the most COMPLETE team won. Hope for a different result this year, tons of season left and hope to at least fix up the 5-7 D slots and make a stronger team.

Off to the game, big rivalry game, hoping for Constanzo in net but my Gut is telling me Onuska. Knights coming off an OT win I will be interested if they start Brochu in Back to Backs( he has looked brutal this year), or if they go with the back up. Let's just hope for a hard hitting full 60 minute effort it shouldn't be hard in these games against London.

Cheers🍻🏒
Screw London!👍
And Go Spits Go!!🙏🥅
Hasn't been much of a rivalry for a decade now.

Agree
Go Spits Go
Spits assigned forward Jackson McLlwain to Stratford Jr B on Wednesday
He has played 2 games there has 1G,2A in those 2 games.
When Christoforo returns Spits will 21 players on their roster, with Martin and McLlwain now playing B.
Sorry not paid enough attention, when is Christoforo due back?

Definitely disagree with your statement because it definitely still is a rivalry definitely not the pre 2010's type of rivalry (which I miss dearly) but most of the time when these two teams meet there's added physicality and a bigger edge in the game. It doesn't matter where these two teams are standings wise, you know it's going to be a little more gritty and physical. The hatred is passed down by players as the years go on, now the game has changed rules wise and players are not built the same way physically or mentally, it's just not the same but to say it's not a rivalry still is just inaccurate. I am expecting a physical game tonight from both sides and yes hopefully some old time hockey with a scrap or two. But mostly just hoping for 2 points against are Rivals to separate us further in the standings early in this season. Let's bury the Knights even further. 60 minute effort needed, we know the Hunters are going to bring there squad to play so let's hope our boys come out even better.

Go Spitfires!!👍🍻

There was talk that he COULD be back tonight, but I wouldn't be surprised if he's back tomorrow or Monday.

As for tonight - there's absolutely still a rivalry. Ask the players, ask the coaches... it's there. You may not get brawls every game or 90s style hockey but it's one of the most anticipated, emotional games of the season that's circled on their calendar.

Id rather have the team prepared.
I don't agree with this big rivalry anymore.

The fans still have a solid rivalry . Like the Leafs fans vs Wings fans. The owners not so much since Bowler came in London has made trades since. That would never have happened with Rychel still in charge. The players hard to say, not like when it was Hall, Ellis vs Tavares Marner years at least on the surface. Fans dislike each other regardless of teams positions in the standings. A win vs the Knights still feels great even if sandwiched between loses. Bragging rights still hold a lot of value.

Not a argument 7. With your opinion there is no rivalry. Pole the fans and you will get an answer that you disagree with. No big deal. Take hockey out if the equation and most Windsorites have always despised London as cities and vice versa.
A lot of fans that go now with the average attendance, don't know of "the rivalry ". The older ones do. Sure. And if they want to make it that. Good for them.

Maggio mentioned it as a rivalry during his interview Thursday. Friends on London team that they like to beat for bragging rights. Hope they get under the skin of a certain D on London. Last time he was here his season came to a quick end. Always something happening in these games.

Junior hockey is very vanilla most nights so need games like this to keep it somewhat interesting. Never matters where either are in the standings, usually a hard fought game on both sides.

Ya I forgot about the Smith thing, could be interesting.

Refs need to just stand back and let them play.
Smith might have something to say tonight.
Depends on the refs tonight. Some call it differently then others. Probably will be said as a "factor".

Not a great defensive start at all. D is missing. Knights clogging up slot so not much quality gets to Bowman.

That said... this feels like it's waiting to go boom. Every bump and nudge leads to something. The rival is alive and well and I'm loving it.

Costanzo should have started Onuska 3 goals on 10 shots doesn't cut it. O'Flaherty spirited fight. One of the longest fights in some time in the OHL. Need to regroup quick. Miedema line best line out there by far. Missed obvious spearing call. Sucks when a goal called back but it was offside unfortunately.
