I know because this isn't the only place where there is talk about the team.

In general, it's been an adjustment going from Rychel's megaphone-style GMing to Bowler's "complete silence until explosion" style. However, with a week to go until camp, and some chatter out there, I'm not worried. I'm surprised it hasn't happened yet... but I'm not worried. Now, if they start camp without a new coach, then that's a different ballgame.

Torres has a solid resume... OJHL, OHL, AHL, NHL in various roles. Worth noting that he was coveted by other teams, too, but he liked what Windsor was telling him.
Certainly nice to hear he has a resume. According to a twitter post it sounds like the Spit offices/phones are down until after the weekend. Wonder how this will affect the training camp?

Just going off history posted online and no context, but seems like a loyal, patient person. You could take that 2 different ways.
Context matters but I got no reference for this individual. Seems like a hockey lifer that hasn't broken thru yet for whatever reason.. I could be totally wrong thou and that it washois plan all along. Slow n steady but its been almost w decades.
I tend to reserve judgement til more than previous "stats" have me saying he is a "helluva" coach or player for that matter. Stats need context before hyperbole.
Hopefully he is good with kids and helps develop the players and is part of creating a great environment for the kids in Windsor to mature n succeed.
Players, families and fans deserve that.
Sincerely hope he adds quality to the org. and OHL as a whole. The league needs good people in positions of authority with all that has gone on the last couple decades in hockey.
Edit. Again, hopefully it's a successful hire.

Well I have no knowledge of him. His resume looks impressive but I will wait to see what impact he will have on the team before I get too giddy.

What I do like is his experience in " skill development". Players at this level really take to a coach that will help them develop skills they will need to get to the next level. Let's hope this is a good fit for all.

How do you know other teams coveted him? Other ohl teams? How do you know what windsor was telling hm?
I ask because my contacts have little to no knowledge of him, of other ohl teams looking and BB has been totally tight lipped. Please share.
Ive got zilch on this guy. But his resume is both deep and concerning… lets hope weve got a great development coach here.

Windsor Star article...

Re other teams: "Torres admitted that Windsor wasn't the only team that approached him about a coaching post..."

Re what Windsor told him: “Once I started talking with Bill, the vibe seemed good and things took off,” Torres said. “I talked to the ownership and (Smith) and the vibe and the standard of the way they want to run the program is the way I try to run things and communicate and I’m excited about that.”

Media can use words whatever way they like. Not always the full truth...

Admittedly never heard of the new assistant coach before, though I do like his resume'
While he never played in the O or professionally he did play in JrB,was a goaltender in his day.
At least we won't have to worry about nepotism as it relates to this hire.
Well,at least I got it right when the announcement re this position just got the wrong guy(Cooke) even though he was interviewed.

Me neither but someone completely outside the organization can bring some new ideas. Bowler continues to surprise with his cards held tight to his chest. Yes, Smith was expected but this hire and Savard were surprises.

Interesting season ahead. Does the team continue it's winning ways, or scoring dries up (Savard Influence),can the new assistant keep it going, or does the team go on a free fall. Bowler must have a plan, (trades......draft picks...NHL development?) or he is going to be very vulnerable by March!

You guys got a good one here. He has worked with many players in this area, Eastern Ontario in fact. Not long ago in the NYR organization, but got let go reasons to remain confidential. He is an excellent communicator, and was up for GM job here in Kingston before they gave it to Cooper
