Morneau is one of the hardest working kids on the club; a 15th round pick who made the team through determination and grit. He'd be the first person to throw his body in front of a puck or go into the crease for a dirty goal. Yep, he made a dumb mistake, but if we're going to have that overshadow the rest of the season... yeah, that's not on him.

Honestly, there isn't "one."

I never questioned him as a player but thanks for your scouting report. I Only dealt with a singular action that hurt his team in response to a false and inaccurate defense of the player. I know u didn't respond to me. Just adding that. And I get why every Spits fan but one says it was wrong or doesn't try to make excuses for it. All those posters/fans got a legit gripe regardless of it he is a 15th rd pick.

Honestly when 15 individuals ( and the demographic is vast....Spits fans, opponent fans, actual hockey people who scout or have worked with teams) have mainly only issues with a single poster, and that poster has issues with 15 plus posters.....ya there is a common denominator. It's easy math. Choose not to see it or acknowledge, no worries here.

I'll edit. Maybe W7 has issues with more than 1 other poster lol. But no where to another's extent or personal attacks.

Eg. 3 people in last 2 days for one. The 3 involved only with him. All 3 times he resorted to digs n names first instead of content. I get it when ya got no argument but it's a bad look.
If I never post again the list is still long. If the common denominator doesn't it all goes away ( other than W7 :) which from the outside if harmless n you 2 buy in all the time. I get it thiu seriously
If PP never does.... GS, 4Life,Hockeypops, Teflon, Razor..........all stop there's still a list of 10 more.

If the Mods would allow it we could do a poll? Single biggest common poster involved with petty, non constructive back n forth posts?

No...everyone just get along; critique ideas, not people/character; don't make it personal. For reference, everyone should read...uhmmmm, the other 19 team threads where this back n' forth is non-existent.

It was a stupid move but doesn't take away the entire body of work. Get me a couple of more who play like Morneau and we're set.

As for the back and forth stuff - I get it. You dislike a single poster. But the issues aren't because of any single person. Never has been. If you want to disagree, so be it, but I'm taking this from an outside-ish POV.

Cool. But disagree. Remove one, 90% of the stuff goes away......that's a common denominator, just my opinion.

Not sure dislike would be the descriptor I would use but I wont argue your perception.
And outside-ish suggests a bias. That's cool also. :)

Still would need to work on defense..

Some posters aggrevate each other personally but the funny thing is the crow that is eaten throughout the year. Both sides are correct at times which further fuels their digging in. One thing I don't think any Spits fan will contest. The playoff debacle and early exit was not expected by anyone regularly on here. Especially after the big buys at deadline. So there are some things that everyone can agree on regardless of opinions of why that occurred. Spits fans are passionate and vocal and I welcome the discussions.

I don‘t know enough about the kids taken late to give an opinion, unfortunately.
Hopefully one or two can turn out okay.

Love draft time. Following dreams, hope springs eternal......
TY for your insights on players here and across OHL HF. Takes some X to put it all out there and I know many appreciate the info. It's alot of work also even if a passion.

I second this! I love learning about new players coming in; what they've brought in the past and what they could bring.
I miss seeing as much Min and Maj midget, lower Jr hockey as I did pre covid.
Always fun to follow players you know personally or from seeing play 10-15 times in any given year.

I think similar could be said for the OHL, at least in my eyes. I've been fortunate to get to know some players and am looking forward to seeing how they progress beyond the O.

Not sure why we are calling a 15 year old draft pick good or bad on draft day?? Give them a chance to show their stuff on the ice. They will prove if the belong or not. Everyone just needs to chill. If I was a parent of a Windsor draft I'd been wondering what the "H" am I sending my kid to?

If what you read on here gets you worked up, you need another hobby.

Agreed with the players sure. Development isn't linear and often not easily predicted out side the sure things. And to all the players not drafted or don't make a jrA team at 16/17 there are lots of examples every year where players took an alternate route, stuck with it, developed and made it.

It's not going to overshadow the rest of the season, our season is over and it's not even warm outside yet.

You are wrong, a fair portion of our failure is absolutely his responsibility. Let him own it and quit making excuses for him like Eric Cartman's mom. He does not deserve any powdered donut pancake surprise this season. If he shows up next year and makes up for his mistake with a great performance, I'll be more than happy at that time that we drafted his cousin.

I didn't know his name but knew Noah's cousin was involved. Glad they got him.
Actually his father played in the OHL as well as the UHL one team being the Detroit Vipers, played some East Coast League hockey as well as pro hockey in Germany, his name Chris Gignac a Windsor born guy that I heard about long before a connection to the Morneau family.
Brief comments about yesterday 's draft after hearing and reading comments from scouts online.
Like what I hearing about Nesbitt big kid who can hit and play, dmen Adrian Mango and Micheal Lavigne come highly rated Lavigne a monster already, and the guy that interests me is Easton Pace from Michigan small, aggressive and talented, similar to Ryan Abraham, hope he shows up at camp, has chance to crack roster.
While I think we are set in goal with Costanzo, along with Froggett and Altiman, can never have enough ,Gabe Donhue a late birthday December 7,good size 6"-190 played well in Whitby and will be given time to develop.
Julian Gignac taken in the 14th,very aggressive, good size, hockey background, can use always players like him, gritty don't see him making team this year but a guy next season and beyond.
Can see him and 1 of the 2 dmen ,either Manzo or Lavigne playing in La Salle this season ala Davis and Woodall last year.
Would expect 3-16 year olds making squad,Nesbitt ,Lavigne and Pace are my predictions so far, with Mango having a chance too.
Cant wait till camp to assess further, overall pleased with the draft especially with only 11 picks and time will certainly tell.

I have to laugh at this quote from Frank Evola regarding 12th-round pick Kyle Butt...

“One of those player’s that’s a throwback,” Evola said. “He’ll hit anything. He might even hit the Zamboni driver. At some point, he might have an opportunity to play here. Just the way he plays, he plays like a Windsor Spitfire blue-collar guy that the fans would enjoy at some point.”

So by appearances some areas needing help got it. Pick 1 gets us a big body that likes to park in front of the net. 2 and 3 are physical D men. Lets hope some from further down are good enough too. That said the transition to Jr A hockey is big, lets hope these players attributes follow them to this level.

If only we could’ve got by Kitchener and Saginaw, we’d have a matchup with London or Sarnia where Home Ice in the Finals would’ve been ours now Ottawa has been eliminated…

Ahh what could have been…

Would NB not have had home ice IF they beat Barrie tonight? Discussion on london board suggests NB would have home ice. I dunno

Hard to speculate.....but still they woulda needed 12 more PO wins then they got to see. That's not easy.

I'm still surprised at the 1st rd result. As we're most. The dots just went able to be connected for whatever reason. It happens. But a good 2 year run and if they leadership makes the right moves they can keep this momentum going.

I don't get why, if people have an issue with a particular poster, either personally or their content, they just don't put them on ignore? Problem solved, you never have to read or interact with them. I've done it for a few posters and I'm sure a few posters have done it for me.

That would be easy for most. Even sensible if they prefer not to read thoughts or rebuttals on a public forum as long as we dont cross lines.

Some even go as far to say they did it but dont......( or PM they have a second account to monitor people when they are put on ignore and then continue to respond)
Anyone I've put on the ignore list isn't worth the time or energy to read or respond. Like the constant negative posts by some people. They are never going to change their way of thinking so why bother engaging?
