Agree, and like I wrote before take one game at a time.
Interestingly of the players dressing today only 8 played in game 1 of last years playoffs vs Sarnia,Maggio, Maillet, Christopoulos, Peer,Jodoin, Renwick, Sobolev and Onuska.
Of the other 12,only Wright, and Harrison have playoff experience 11 games for Wright and 6 for Harrison.
Of the 10 remaining players, Smith,Holmes and Castle will playing their 1st playoff game tonight, surprised when I looked up Holmes, the other 7 are Costanzo, Christoforo, Woodall,Davis,Greentree, McManus and Morneau.
Should mention Abraham and DeAngilis played 25 games each last year in Windsor's playoffs, while Dionicio will be playing his 1st in game 3.
Spellacy also would be playing his 1st were he available.
One player who needs to pick things up is Colton Smith, while he finished the year with 22G,25A,he has only 1G,2A in his last 13 games played,he finished the year with a +5,but he was a -6 in those 13 games.

He plays lazy, so his numbers reflect that. DJ needs to put him through the summer routine of 08/ 09 and 2010. He has skill, but lacks the heart that his dad always showed.
I agree. His skill is there, but it seems like he's lacking drive, or it's just really bad conditioning. I see a glimpse of hope here or there and then the next shift he's the last man in our zone, and once he's back in our D zone, he can't keep up with his line mates in the play moving forward. For a 4th rd. pick he's a great addition considering Thomas Johnston (who came over with a 6th), cost us a 3rd in 2023.

That 3rd would've been nice to have in a couple weeks, but Johnston was moved off of a high contender in Ottawa, and I really don't think at the time, the Spits expected to be where they are now after losing all of last years top 10 point getters aside from Maggio, Renwick and well... Abraham.

That trade looked to be to acquire a depth piece that has been past in the chart by just about everyone.

Since Harrison's injury I haven't really noticed him much but he has logged a handful of points. He's someone I don't think has reached his full potential here yet in Windsor, but hopefully can during this playoff run. The coach likes pairs and I think Harrison and Peer could get something going, especially if they're going up against another teams third line.
Maggio/Maillet
Wright/Christopoulos
Harrison/Peer
Mix around Greentree, Smith, Davis and Castle and Morneau to complete those top 3 lines.

Smith has that eye for scoring, but personally I'd much rather see Morneau get that bump up to a top 9 spot. Kid wins face-offs, is great on the PK, finishes his checks and has decent speed alongside it. A quiet 25 points, but he does those things off the scoresheet that are so valuable.

I like Smith's potential but something is missing, whether it's speed, drive, or something mentally. I'm just not sure what to make of it. When he's on, he's very on, but when he's off... "oh, he's dressed tonight??" Thinking out loud here - after a game a month or so ago, he mentioned in an interview that DJ was in the building so he knew he'd have to play well or he would hear about it. I couldn't tell if it was a joke or serious, but it made me wonder if there's pressure and that gets to him?!

As for Harrison - I know he likes it here so it might just be a matter of getting into the swing of things following the injury. I like the idea of Peer/Harry with maybe Smith. The two speedsters and then find Smith out front.

Morneau deserves a top nine spot. Will he get it, though?

Looks like a decent crowd tonight, maybe 5,000ish. Saturday is closer to 6,000.

No, Morneau won’t get it. The way I see it, there’s 7 that shouldn’t fall out of it, Maggio, Maillet, Peer, Wright, Christopoulos, Greentree, Harrison. Smith will likely stay top 9 despite His play, and my guess is they slide castle in the top 9 as well. I like Morneau’s play recently better but whatever gets those W’s I’m cool with.

Smith with Harrison and Peer works, after Peer circles the opposing net a couple times Smith will finally be up in the play ready to bang one in lol

...and then people yell "SHOOT" despite having zero idea what he's seeing. Give me a player who skates around, with control, over a player who gives the puck up by shooting into someone.
Or u could skate around n around and then give it away..
Not like that hasn't happened with past players..

I am fine with Morneau but I notice when he is with more skilled guys he loves to take chances, freelance etc... He's at his best when getting pucks deep and other hockey cliches. 25 points in 65 games even tells you that.

Kid's lazy, spoiled or both. In London, Dale parked him in front of the net on the PP and he banged in some rebounds. Thought that was good enough, but if you've not defensively responsible in London, you're not seeing the ice. He cried to DJ who got Mark Hunter to send him to Windsor. Sounds like nothing has changed.

Wish I could have made the trip down to watch at least 1 game this series. Haven't been there since 2010, and the half ice gwg in game 3. Let's not talk about the rest of that series though...

Excited for a fun series. Hopefully the stars on both sides run with it.

All i seem to read from you is some kind of complaing? We alll know d needs work ( like most clubs$ so why pick on that every time sheesh …. Maybe you should call your self windsor downer lol.

It seems you are unhappy most of the time I used to run a parenting forum. You would fit in nicely with negative crowd Let me ask you a question, would you rather be with negative people pointing out negative things always or rather beside positive people in your life ? Sorry I don’t know you but reading your posts is irritating and I down right negative to me in nature. I rather be surrounded by rosy glass fans

Peace
