So true. All the trades of the 05s who were tight with 06s and even with older guys was a waste. Could have had run this year and into 2024/25 season with some good trade decisions and coaching. They all played with heart and were tougher kids who stood up for their teammates even as rookies. Whole future blown to bits.
The Dionicio - Castle trade is going to end up looking real good even if we’re bounced in 4. Dionicio is a game changer on the blueline, even if he needs to be reeled in. He should even be NHL drafted this year. Ride and O’Flat are afterthoughts.

Shane Wright deal, if there isn’t a second part; was well worth the risk, although Miedema could explode over the next couple seasons.

Harrison deal will be the one that hurts the most. it is what it is though.

Just because Sop wasn't injured doesn't mean it wasn't just as dangerous a hit as Pinelli. In fact it was more intentional. DeAngelis was a direct shot to the head while Sop was engaged with a backchecker. Sop was lucky he wasn't badly injured. But that makes it ok in your eyes.
What I’m saying is the Kitchener broadcast team made it a clear point that Pinelli was missing due to a penalty call. Never mentioned that the fastest guy on our team likely had suffered a concussion and will be out the remainder of the season because of it.

I’ve always had a dislike for Hennigs commentary, but it seemed strange to only talk about Pinelli getting a game misconduct and then being upset about the DeAngelis hit when Pinelli’s was FAR more dangerous.

Side note: Piercey’s hit on Parekh last night was Equally as dangerous in overtime. Luckily Parekh was good enough to continue on. Total blind siding directly to the head.

For shits and giggles has any team in hockey history ever came back from 3-0 series deficit twice in history against the same team?. Chances IMO Of that happening stand between Slim to None but that would be a crazy thing to witness and if there's a team in the league that can do it, we must be up there with a chance. It all starts with one game and then you really never know, Hockey is a unpredictable Sport. The Spitfires have been streaky all season and I feel they might be in there heads to much the last three games, Kitchener just won 3 straight games and have played great at shutting down our teams strengths, and we have been outcoached period. So it is possible but very slim especially With Onuska probably starting again. He had a Solid game on Tuesday but nothing spectacular like Kitchener Goaltending has been this series, My confidence in O is still hovering around Zero. Its only 4 Straight Wins, everyone needs to go Balls to the Walls, Play like your Season and for some there OHL Career's are on the line. Also Marc and his excuses after game 3, he needs to just shut up and do his job period we played like garbage in a almost must win game, got alot of Passengers. No the team didn't play good Marc, had 40+ Shots and couldn't get your team to play a 200 Foot Game Still.

Till The Fat Lady Sings Boys, Give it Your All Tonight. Its Not Over till its over, One shift/Period at a time. Miracles do happen in hockey, Most of us remember 2010 Well.

Go Spitfires Go!

Onuska in goal. peer is out. Dionicio on the second line.
Not surprised about Peer, disappointed McManus not in especially dressing 7D plus Dionicio upfront as Woodall is dressed.
Not shocked about Onuska though he better be on a short leash.

I like the lineup but likely won't matter. I think the chances of Onuska replicating his game 3 performance is slim to none.

Either the players have already given up and they get blown out, or they are clicking offensively and score five or six but Onuska is back to his old ways and allowed 6-8 goals. Need a big game from Maggio and Wright.

Having a hard time getting excited about tonight's game. Even if they do manage to win tonight they still have to win 3 more. Tough ask against Kitchener. You hope for a miracle but reality is likely not going to happen.

Go Spits Go!!!
Especially knowing Savard has favored Onuska the last two seasons, Costansto should be in net tonight. O lost last game you would think your head coach would go back to the starter, the guy who has put the work in this season and came with consistancy but nope obviously not right. To have him as the guy now and to think we can win 4 straight games is almost delusion to be honest but as a die hard spitfire fan since I way a boy i will watch till the season is over, little to no hope but I'm still here hoping for the best, did the same in 2010 when we came back from the depths of hell in game 4 for a come from behind win, the rest was history!!!!🙏

Listen JC fought the puck first 2 games. Outcome not his fault but O looked better last game. Very steep hill in front of this team. Id love nothing more than to see a team resembling what were used to. One game at a time is always the way to see it.
All that said im convinced the team was built wrong, i was in the fall and im still there. Critical mistakes have been made behind the bench and more importantly by the GM. Guess we’ll see what the savages tolerance level is. Problem is theres family and a guy tied to ALL your hockey operations involved. They are tough to cut loose.

WINDSOR
Well it is getting close to see if this team has anything left. I am certainly hoping our OAS haven't played their last home game of their careers. I am also not looking forward to this thread flipping to off season thread tomorrow. Go Spits!!

I don’t agree. Ride is 6”6 strong defenseman. An 05 who had time to develop and we greatly need defense. O’Flaherty at 6”2 and almost 200 was physical, defended and stood up for his team. Amazing shot. He would have stood up to Pinelli or anyone else who crushed his teammate. Miedema was 4th pick in entire draft and while he had some gaps, he was still top talent potential. Wasted potential to have them traded when they could have built a great team with the 06s like Spellacy who unfortunately had tough injury this year but is a great player. Castle will never replace these three players in terms of long term potential imho. But in any event a 4 game sweep suggests they blew it up rather than built the winning team. Remember the players are human and when a locker room gets blown up, that has an effect. It’s not the sole reason for their three straight losses but it does have an impact. Too too bad. That was one of the closest teams I have seen in hockey. The boys were really bonded last year and for first part of year. Doesn’t seem the same. Good luck to Windsor tonight.

100% disagree.
JC played well during the season, but he was not the reason the team was #1.
and they lost the first two games with JC in goal and he was to blame for some of those.
Onuska played well Tuesday night; so much so he was second star.

he deserves the start tonight.
