Hockeys back! Slightly jealous that ya'll get the season opener tonight but really looking forward to this back to back, home and home series with the Spits to kick the season off. Gonna be two fantastic games between Sarnia/Windsor. Good luck and hopefully we can spark a flame between these two teams to set the tone for the year. Cheers!!!

Agreed should be interesting tonight and tomorrow let alone the season.
Sarnia has some nice young talent in all areas building nicely for the future, 2 good goalies both only 18,one drafted ,the other Thorton impressive at Arizona's camp, inexperience upfront mostly could be challenging, Windsor fairly young team,if Medina plays like he did in Sarnia, when the 2 teams met 3 weeks ago, cant see Sarnia winning, time will tell
Good luck, hoping for some physicality in this 2 game set that's for sure.

Game Day....after not following the Spits for a number of yrs because of the league's soft hockey policy I'm hoping Savard brings back a bit more grit to the game especially at home if they want to fill 3400 seats regularly. Time will tell .....

not sure a lot of players fit that description. In my opinion this is a pretty soft team. Time will tell

Lets assume windsor will win tonight.
However unless u have a crystal ball, u cant tell if Sarnia going to lose.
Everyone starts at 0 points.

A couple of sidenotes: I haven't heard anything about the leadership group yet OR if Henault is returning tonight.

Perhaps the leadership is announced during the pre-game ceremony? My prediction:

C - Ladd
A - D'Amico
A- Cuylle
A - Johnston

I also know Henault is listed on the San Diego Gulls' roster and they play tonight, so I'm not holding my breath.

On the Sarnia side of things.....Both Sting assistant coaches have stepped down in the last week. Staubitz was announced today. Technically the only coach Sarnia has is HC Alan Letang. Be interesting to see how this affects the players and tonights game. Not good for Sarnia.

Any reason for them stepping down? Seems like rather odd timing.

Edit: Nevermind, I found Staubitz's press release. Hopefully everything is okay.

Going to be some growing pains with the new coaching staff imo. Savards first real coaching gig. He will find out real quick if not already who the entitled players and parents are. He and Delmore used to more adult players. There will be a learning curve.

Not to my knowledge. Sting announced both coaches were coming back this season. Staubitz has been on the bench for all of preseason. Mancari was there for training camp but not any preseason games on the bench. Super weird and concerning.

I imagine that will depend on Henault returning. Until then likely"A"s only to start Damico, Cuylee Ladd my guesses

Are we going to have to watch that MacLeod and his monotone boring play by play?

I better get out a red bull it's going to be a long game....
