Luke looks better than how Jack looked at his age/in his first year in the league.

Play wise, yes. Potential wise, absolutely not. In Jack's first year I could easily see his vision of the ice was absolutely insane and he was a play in front of everyone. I don't think Luke has that same ability but he obviously has potential to be a good #2 Dman.

Luke needs a night or two in the press box. His offense does not make up for how bad he is in the d-zone.

Luke has been bad. Giveaways by him and his brother have messed up the games recently. They need to get it together.

Bahl and Sieges too. Marino looking like pumpkin back facing the play like Vitek.

It's unreal how bad the d and goalies have been.

The defense system is just awful and it’s not going to work.

Even when they win games, they don’t look to good doing it.

This is a bad team and I’m hoping it’s mainly bc of the system.

Evidently not. They've directly given away at least three goals tonight that aren't on the goalie. More than that, this team just does not win the possession game and their rush chances are few and fewer in between. I mean, how many grade A chances have they had on whoever the goalie is they have in net?

Also, if Jack Hughes is going to be a complete zero this team goes nowhere.

Completely disagree.

You can’t say the defense is so young and then think a coach running an incredibly complicated system that asks for non-traditional reads is helping them.

You could argue that’s possibly the worst thing to do.

I do agree that we look completely confused out there and like we can’t get out of our own way. It’s not just youth for sure. And our confidence is gone too. You can see it even in Jack Hughes tonight.

Imploding to this degree in multiple games, pee wee level puck management and defense, free wheeling with no structure…this is basically what the sabres and senators do. If you think a different mid goalie is gonna change things, I don’t think you are fully appreciating how bush league this all is.

Luke is a D-man, they develop later and it's his first year in the league. His skating and offensive vision/ability are absolutely on par.

This is the type of stuff that will seal Lindy’s fate sooner than later. That said, we did kind of ride with the notion of the defense having to play through their struggles and hoping the goaltending would work out. This was with Dougie in the lineup too.

I’m not sure there is an immediate move to be made. If you bring in a goalie, you send Schmid down and see if you can ride that out. Maybe you bring in another defender and sit one of the young guys.

I just don’t know. But if things like this do continue, Lindy will be the first out the door.

It is amazing that the Devils get a good PP and then teams stop getting called for anything.

It definitely hasn’t been the lack of fouls, look at the 2 nothing calls on the Devils tonight.

I'm on the record as believing the problems lie much more with the players than the coaching, but if you are going to fire the coach you better do it before the season is a lost cause.
