Probably speaks more to the lack of depth scoring that they lose when the top guys don't score.
Yup Leafs core 4 essentially determines if Leafs WIN or LOSE, because of lack of depth because of top heavy scoring at cap heavy consumption.

Nylander has a team leading 12 goals himself. Leafs bottom 18 players so called "depth" have scored 12 goals total after 18 games.

Where would the Leafs be without Nylander this year where he is scoring at the rate of 18 of his teammates combined?

2 points, good enough, I’d take 2 points a game all season long. It would be more than an ok season,
He got the points he’s smart and talented but he can be much better and he needs to be if we think we’re going anywhere

There are only 13 of these 18 with more than a game or two.

Reinhart also has 12 goals, and that is only 1 fewer than the bottom 13 of Florida (all who have played 5 or more) combined.

The bottom 13 on Edmonton (12 have more than 2 games) have a combined 7 goals to Draisaitl's 12.

The bottom 17 on Colorado (16 have more than 2 games) have a combined 10 goals to Rantanen's 12.

The bottom 17 on Montreal (16 have more than 2 games) have a combined 11 goals to Caufield's 12.

Those are all the other teams with a player with 12 goals. Eliminating players with only 1or 2 games, we don't look any worse, and clearly better than Colorado and Montreal.

Him and AM have been our best players since the start of last season. His ability to play in the playoffs is a breathe of fresh air

Is this a joke because he randomly disappeared in the playoffs so he could host watch parties at his home theatre or are you suggesting that he's a playoff performer?

Are you talking about when he had the concussion vision issue?

He’s got 28 points in his last 29 games and please find me a more consistent playoff performing Leaf. He shows up and turns it up. AM and MM had decent stats, but have folded on multiple occasions to be game changers

55 would be fantastic.

Couple questions to go unanswered,

Assuming he scores a few PP goals doesn't your projection show him giving up more even strength goals then scoring?
Is 91 points considered a reasonable accomplishment for such a highly paid player?
Considering he's currently a +1, I would think a projection would keep him +? (It does.)

Considering that JT has never hit 91 points as a Leaf, on a much higher percentage-wise contract....

Nylander works at C with Leafs depth being tested

Maple Leafs forward Max Domi did not participate in the team's practice Friday as he receives a maintenance day.

With both Matthews and Domi absent, the Maple Leafs tested new lines with William Nylander working at centre between Matthew Knies and Nick Robertson.

"He's really good in the face-up dot," head coach Craig Berube said of Nylander. "He's like 55 per cent on the year, which is good. He was fine in the middle today. He looked good to me."

Leading and winning the Cup is the only thing that matters.

AM can make 20mil a year but if the Leafs is just a playoffs team those years, it means nothing even if AM scores 80goals a season but get outplays but guys like Coyle.

No center, no problem.

Give it to Nylander he hates everything.
