I think Hyman's quote was even more telling.

Paraphrasing a little but he talked about how hard Nylander works off the ice and in practice and no one on the team doubts how much he wants to win.

No they didn't. Don't get fooled by the record at the time. They were playing run and gun hockey saved by shooting and goaltending. So they were a much worse team without him. Even if it were true, it means nothing.
Nylander makes the team better. No argument.

Also the best this team has ever played is under Keefe.

Hope this gets his confidence up. He is vastly missunderstood. It is obvious if u have any poeple skill at all. The way his frustration and low confidence is displayed is taken for lack off effort and will. When you are afraid to do things wrong you become passive. But people make there own interpretations "lazy, dont care, etc". Hope he keeps going.

I think I now understand what the Nylander critics are misinterpreting when they think Willie is "floating".
When he is doing this "floating" what he is doing is reading the play. This is how he's managed to disrupt so many plays and positions himself to recieved the puck in his position.
This is a what many good players have done in the past and still do now.
As for the lack of effort quips? I don't see that at all

Not many dispute that he is expected to be better. The reasons why he aint better differ. Lazy, soft, no heart, dont care. I dont belive he is any of those. Mentaly he dips to often , but he cares.
