This shows that the problem on the 2nd line was more JT then Willy. 1st line goes silent when JT got put there. Looks like the Nylander critics were wrong again.
Obviously not. He is the obvious player to move though if they decide to make a move.
No it doesn't. The stacked top line isn't a great idea because it lacks guys who are used to being first on the forecheck. That doesn't absolve Willy's struggles so far this year. This shows that the problem on the 2nd line was more JT then Willy. 1st line goes silent when JT got put there. Obviously they could move other assets in a move. Was referring to bringing in an impact player.If/when the Leafs make a move at this tdl they likely won't be moving any core pieces since theyll want to add to the lineup, so not sure id agree with that.
If the season ends in disaster and the team looks for a major shakeup, that's another story.
You’re right. Everyone showed up. But Nylander. Too bad we lost 3-0.Another no show for Willy. Way to step up.

Tough game to watch. Rittich went into beast mode. Nylander looked a lot better though.
It's clear Nylander needs someone to play a high paced rush game with. Might be putting this too harshly, but afterburners and ankle burners don't pair well together.
“It’s not our young 7 million dollar player with a tradable contract that sucks. It’s our old 11 million dollar player with a nmc that sucks.”This shows that the problem on the 2nd line was more JT then Willy. 1st line goes silent when JT got put there. Are you saying the same thing about Tavares?Another no show for Willy. Way to step up.
Tavares had the highest 5x5 xg on the team last night. Nylander among the lowest. Are you saying the same thing about Tavares?
Not sure if Torts would even want Nylander lolIf things don't improve from what we are expecting from Nylander then trade him to Columbus. Torts will show the Leafs how to bench him.
It’s these type of posts that bring out a negative counter, because they’re so childish. I mean a 0 point, 1 shot game and it’s lauded as though some sort of herculean performance. Geez.Big time wake up call in this game for a certain group of fans. JT was the issue on the 2nd line. Not Willy
Sure showed up on the scoreboard.Tavares had the highest 5x5 xg on the team last night. Nylander among the lowest.
Heard he got benched, and I'm sure he deserved it (he's kind of a lazy player after all but with a ton of skill) so I wanted to see how he did tonight. From the looks of it, he constantly got the puck into the O-zone, cycled and created a few chances, while the top-line consisting of yours gods, did squat. Matthews been great so far and can't be good every game ofc, but I was listening to Ray Ferraro (ugh, hes hard to listen to), and whenever Nylander did something good it didnt get a mention, but as soon as he lost a puck you got to hear it a few seconds later. Ray NEVER, at least in the 2 periods I watched, said anything about either Matthews or Marner, or JT for that matter, but they were completley awful this game. For example, in the 5vs3 PP, Nylander got shit on when the Leafs didn't create anything, but not Marner or Matthews that had the puck 24/7. In the scenes before the PP, when Toronto got their PP's, he implied that the Flames player was not happy with the penalty that was called on him when he tripped Nylander, "not happy at all, weak penalty", but when Marner went down for no reason by the boards, and Lindholm was even more infuriated than the other Flame, he said squat. Don't you people recognize this?
It's quite clear that the media have decided who to blame, and that seems to always be the case in your city and with your journalists.
It's easy to look at Nylanders game and see flaws, but I had hoped that more people following teams etc had better knowledge than letting play-by-players or experts color their judgement like they do in Toronto.
