Obviously not. He is the obvious player to move though if they decide to make a move.

If/when the Leafs make a move at this tdl they likely won't be moving any core pieces since theyll want to add to the lineup, so not sure id agree with that.

If the season ends in disaster and the team looks for a major shakeup, that's another story.

This shows that the problem on the 2nd line was more JT then Willy. 1st line goes silent when JT got put there. Looks like the Nylander critics were wrong again.
No it doesn't. The stacked top line isn't a great idea because it lacks guys who are used to being first on the forecheck. That doesn't absolve Willy's struggles so far this year.

Obviously they could move other assets in a move. Was referring to bringing in an impact player.

Maybe. But depends. They didn't move a core asset to get Muzzin for example. Then you have Riellys contract status as a potential motivator too (though he wouldn't be an mid season trade either)

It's clear Nylander needs someone to play a high paced rush game with. Might be putting this too harshly, but afterburners and ankle burners don't pair well together.

Nylander himself does not play a consistent high paced rush game. He leaves his linemates high and dry with what he will bring from game to game. I would hate having him as a linemate.

“It’s not our young 7 million dollar player with a tradable contract that sucks. It’s our old 11 million dollar player with a nmc that sucks.”

I sure feel better...

Nylander is not playing well this season at all.
Neither is Tavares. Give Tavares a rest. He desperately needs it, starting the season he was great. I think a 1 week break will help out old man Tavares, clearly he can't skate.

They both are invisible at 5v5. Sure, Nylander gets the puck in and can cycle the puck, but, that's about it.
I don't know what happened to Nylander's goal scoring, but, it's all dried up and been thrown away.
Like I said before, Nylander will generate 1 scoring chance per game. Than be useless the rest of the game.

I think we need to call up Robertson to play with Nylander, he's the only forward prospect with elite offensive potential.

Robertson is real fast, and, I think he can make up for Nylander's shortcomings.

Trade him allready, so tierd of these scapegoatism fans that just hate. They would probably still blame Nylander for losses even if he was on another team. Trade him to Chicago the brothers will play great , Alex is a good give and go player. They are brothers so they will compete.

I hope the ones coming to the conclusion "No player scored, lets blame Nylander" aint working in any important field. Prefer them not to work at all. No internet for them too, that would be great. You may say i am a dreamer , but im not the only one...

If things don't improve from what we are expecting from Nylander then trade him to Columbus. Torts will show the Leafs how to bench him.

Big time wake up call in this game for a certain group of fans. JT was the issue on the 2nd line. Not Willy
It’s these type of posts that bring out a negative counter, because they’re so childish. I mean a 0 point, 1 shot game and it’s lauded as though some sort of herculean performance. Geez.

Bill was fine last night, but we don’t need to applaud every completed pass, it’s ssssooooo insecure really.

Anyways, solid response from Bill.

Heard he got benched, and I'm sure he deserved it (he's kind of a lazy player after all but with a ton of skill) so I wanted to see how he did tonight. From the looks of it, he constantly got the puck into the O-zone, cycled and created a few chances, while the top-line consisting of yours gods, did squat. Matthews been great so far and can't be good every game ofc, but I was listening to Ray Ferraro (ugh, hes hard to listen to), and whenever Nylander did something good it didnt get a mention, but as soon as he lost a puck you got to hear it a few seconds later. Ray NEVER, at least in the 2 periods I watched, said anything about either Matthews or Marner, or JT for that matter, but they were completley awful this game. For example, in the 5vs3 PP, Nylander got shit on when the Leafs didn't create anything, but not Marner or Matthews that had the puck 24/7. In the scenes before the PP, when Toronto got their PP's, he implied that the Flames player was not happy with the penalty that was called on him when he tripped Nylander, "not happy at all, weak penalty", but when Marner went down for no reason by the boards, and Lindholm was even more infuriated than the other Flame, he said squat. Don't you people recognize this?

It's quite clear that the media have decided who to blame, and that seems to always be the case in your city and with your journalists.

It's easy to look at Nylanders game and see flaws, but I had hoped that more people following teams etc had better knowledge than letting play-by-players or experts color their judgement like they do in Toronto.
