Finally, this is the Nylander I remember. I am giving Nylander credit where its due. This is all I wanted was for him to Step up and play hard every time he plays. I did criticize him couple weeks ago and I am very happy he is proving me wrong every game he plays with consistency right now. Hopefully, he will be consistent and lead the leafs to a very successful playoffs.

I’d say that should be more then enough for eichel and i wouldn’t want to give up much more. They get a 1st liner, 1 D, top 6/top 9 prospect and a 1st, if eichel wanted out this might be an overpayment but idk I’m bad at Gauging trade values
Lines for us would be
Jumbo - Matthews - Marner
Kerfoot - Eichel - Tavares
Mikheyev - Engvall - Hyman
Simmonds - Spezza - Boyd
so forward core looks elite, with us having one of the best Centers duo in the league
Muzzin - Holl
Dermott - Brodie
lehtonen/Liljegren - Bogosian
imo our d core takes a decent hit with the removal of Mo, we are missing that number 1-3 offensive d man on the 2nd pairing. Our d is so good this year because we, for the first time in a while, have 4 top 4 dman who can all play 20+ minutes.
I am not the biggest fan of this trade as I think we would be better at keeping nylander and rielly as they combined have more value to a team rather than eichel alone, who would make that 2nd line elite, but make our 2nd pairing pretty mediocre.

Winning fixes a lot of things. I’m not a fan of further exaggerating the salaries on the team but this is a perfect example of a buy low. Buffalo would never do it though.

Not saying it's true but there are rumblings that he has character flaws that impede cohesion.
There is also rumblings that Buffalo would move him but there aren't a lot of teams willing to gamble large on a low performing coach killer

I can see him in a New York Rangers jersey. They have the pieces that Buffalo would be interested in and the stage Eichel can star on.
