Feschuk said Thursday on Overdrive that Nylander is last in the league at 1:1 battles. I’ve been trying to find a site detailing this as a stat but no idea where he plucked that from. I’m crazy interested in those on ice scenarios and would love to find analytics on them, any one know?

Thats 100% made up on his part

Toronto media is horrible.

Nylander gets 3 points in a game.

Brian Burke: "yeah but what else did he do?".

Also Brian Burke: "Montreal is the best team in the north"
Also Brian Burke “ I’d like to thank Mario and the ownership group for the opportunity they afforded me , sorry it didn’t work out “

100% it shows the agenda the media in Toronto have to prey on negativity than positivity. And I’m sure the anti-nylander portion of the fan base lapped that up

Personally I think it says more about Feschuk than the player

I did not hear it, but I would think that either Hayes or O'Dog would have challenged him on such a ridiculous accusation, then again O'Dog is not a big fan.

Do agree that Feschuk has a bit of weasle in him though.

ODog can never ever accuse any player on any team of Laziness ever ..... says black noir pot

Thats utter bullsh!t and festerchuk is waste of skin. He even looks like weasel like eyes. I’ve been hard on Willy lately and want him skating the puck for zone entries that he is elite in the league at. Willy plays defensive by position not man on man. There is no stat for that and he was intentionally misinforming less informed fans. This is so slimy and completely normal taking in where it comes from.
Parasites like this guy live off of negativity. Not saying willy is not deserving of criticism but lying about him is B.S. wow

I was skeptical myself which is why I’ve been trying to find something, anything to “substantiate” his claim (not mine).

would be really cool if there was actually a well-tracked stat for that though.

2 players on the leafs ...
1 as an involved player, 1 as a perimeter player ...
top 1 has 6.5 minutes more per game

so many times on this board i see a mitch vs willie debate ...
these are their stats ... mitch on top, willie on the bottom ..

why can these debates not stop and we all enjoy the fact we have these 2 young talented players here and under contract for a number of years ... (don't want to discuss contracts, that horse has been beaten to death)

neither of them is perfect, they have room to grow... let's enjoy the ride

Don't know about that but I do know he is 1st in 1 on 3s when he doesn't have a stick.

Very interesting. You'd expect Marner to have more Giveaways and Takeaways given he plays more but the other stats I wouldn't expect to see. I guess the outcry about Nylander shying away from contact might be overblown.

Meh. Mitch is far shiftier than Willy and likely far harder to hit (ask Pionk, lol).

I got into a debate with the father in law about his goal last night.

He said it was pure luck, shot it with a hope and a prayer due to all the bodies infront. That there was no chance he picked that spot.

I said if that was the case he wouldn't have waited so long. I said from the camera angle at his viewpoint you can see he was waiting for an opening to appear when it does he shoots it. Yes it was lucky it didn't get blocked with so many moving bodies, but he still picked the spot.

Has anyone tracked Feschuk's lies per radio segment?

Until the pat mcafee show, I never really listened to sports radio - I tried turning on some of ours on my way to work a couple of days ago to hear some leafs & hockey focused stuff and lasted about 5 minutes before shutting it off completely. I get that they have to try and be entertaining with different hot takes but it’s just idiotic and made up.

He has been more aggressive lately which is good to see. JT is good too.
If AM comes back, will we see the reunion of AM-Willie and Hyman?
