Nylander was flying, that breakaway in the first. He had multiple opportunities and just couldn’t get it past Anderson. Looked like he was dancing around everybody yesterday. Great game.

I think he's got 19 goals from the net front now, two more than the guy in second place.

Not sure that we can get them ourselves. They're from SportsLogIQ so no public numbers, but Mike Kelly tends to tweet about it from time to time.

I for one think the criticism was warranted, as TML fans we all know how much skill this kid has but when you aren’t producing offensively and your defence is half assed then fans are gonna be upset. He answered the call and good on him for proving us wrong.

If he continues go hard to the net, play a little harder on the back check this deal will be a steal for the TML. He will also win over his critics and the fans as we love our players to not only be scorers but provide some strong defensive play. I guess for me I just want to see more effort on that side, perhaps because he is so gifted it doesn’t look like he is trying but if he could tap into 50% of Hyman work ethic he could be on par with Pasta IMO.

I agree with that too. Bottom line the playoffs will be the next hurdle. But it is not just Willy. Freddy and Matty also in my mind need to give more too. Freddy in big games and moments. Matty in his own end. These kids are still growing up but this year we need to move past the 1st round. It is time. No more excuses.

Not sure who subscribes to the Athletic, but Nylander has been the player of the game twice as often as any Leafs player this season, and I'm inclined to agree with that. He's been remarkably consistent, especially under Keefe.

This isn't a major deal in the long term however I was surprised that Nylander was not named one of the 3 stars of the week, based on his play from last week and since Toronto went 3-0.
