Nylander is going to be a point per game player in his prime. There's just too much skill and vision on the ice for him not to be a first line center.

It's also important to remember that he's still a teenager and will be improving his game over the next four or five years.

If the leafs drafted Mathews they would go from being one of the weakest teams at center in the entire league to being one of the strongest in less than 2 years.

What's surprising to me is his +/-. There's no denying this is a horrific team, but the fact that he isn't racking up the minuses is promising.

Snizzbone is gone.

Snizz although I know what it means here (thank you southpark), in Scandinavia it means slang for dip (like Copenhagen) except that in Scandinavia they are like prepackaged dips not loose leaf.

Also it kind of sounds more like Snooze. Spelled Snus. Not to be confused with snu snu (see futurama)

Is that the actual Scandinavian word for it or also slang?

I know exactly what it is. I do speak Swedish. My confusion is your translation to dip. Around here it is translated to snuff in English.

I didn't know snuff was more common word than dip (I haven't done it in 15 years), I was just trying to give an idea on what it was not make a direct translation. my bad.

Nylander is a good possession player so the other teams get fewer scoring chances when he's on the ice. Sometimes the best defense is playing keep away in the offensive zone.

He's also got 3.4 sv% better than team average, so there's some luck there. On the other hand, he's getting unlucky offensively so the +/- would perhaps not change much.

Would love to see Hyman on that line.

Hyman is a decent alternative, but Brown would be much preferable. That line would use a skill-based offense, and whomever was the third link would need to be not only a great puck retriever, but also with the vision and skill to participate in that. Hyman has limited vision, any offense he contributes to would be due to forechecking and cycling the puck, so he would be a better fit on another line.

We are discussing who would play with Nylander and JVR ;)

Hahaha oops!
Well them im right? Haha

Well in that case brown or johnson depending on how he adjusts to the small ice.
If johnson can still get into those prime passing lanes in the nhl, with his finishing kills, he would be lethal with willie.
