Hahaha oops!
Well them im right? Haha

Well in that case brown or johnson depending on how he adjusts to the small ice.
If johnson can still get into those prime passing lanes in the nhl, with his finishing kills, he would be lethal with willie.

Yeah, good choice.

Will be really interesting to see how he manages to adjust to the NHL. But perhaps he needs a season with the Marlies first?

Premature, but I think Puljujarvi would be awesome on his line. He's a speedy puck retriever like Hyman, only with a lot more size and a big one timer.

Yeah, if we get him or Laine that could be a good choice as well.

But we all agree that JVR+Nylander is a good combo?

A season with the marlies would not surprise me at all. Aside from the ice size adjustmnt, he is on record saying that his fitness level was not good enough last year and thats why he faltered in the playoffs. With the shl season being significantly shorter than the nhl season, it makes me wonder if he will have an nhl summer and a conitioning stint to be able to compete down the stretch.

One would be on their off wing. I would go with liane nylander johnson

What?

JVR = left shooter on left wing
Nylander on centre
Laine = right shooter on right winng

Your suggestion is

Laine = right shooter on left wing
Nylander on centre
Johnson = left shooter on right wing

?

Yes, liane right shot plays LW. Johnson left shot plays RW.
Those are their natural positions.

Andreas Johnson

Okay, I see what you're saying, I thought off wing always meant playing on the side opposite to which way you shoot

Either way I like both of the line combos :)

You are right, but some players naturally play their off side. Phaneuf and lupul are leafs examples.

Nylander is the most purely skilled forward from that draft. Rienhart is going to be a better 2 way player and Drai has more size but you have to admit the leafs knocked the pick out of the ballpark

I remember arguing with people that were saying we should draft Ritchie and not some pretty boy! Hahaha

Don't forget Nick Ritchie with his 2 points. What a monster.

I will say that outside of Ekblad, I'm happy having Nylander over any other player in that draft. However, I'd say the same of Draisaitl if I was an Oiler fan, and Bennett if I was a Flames fan, and so on. I'd like to see what Nylander can do over a full season next year. But he's doing everything right so far!

I wanted Ehlers at the time. Live in HFX and was blown away watching him in Drouin shred the Q. Didn't know anything about Nylander, just remember seeing him walk to the stage and thinking he was related to the actor that played king joffrey

Ehlers would have been a good choice too. I wanted Willie first then ehlers second.
For me the fact nylander was a centre and playing in a men's league are what put him ahead in my personal ranking.
