Remeber when it was Babcock picking on him? Perhaps that’s instructive but who knows.

Nylander’s a frustrating player because he’s elite and one of the best when he wants to be, so I get it. But he’s not the only problem on this team and it’s getting a bit old that this is Keefe’s scapegoat it seems.

Keefe will never snap on Tavares or Matthews even if they deserved it.
My point is two coaches see the same thing. Coaches can see the cheating, I can as well. Waiting for someone else to win a puck, trying but not hunting, waiting to blow the zone, listless coversge. That’s why coaches react, JT deserves big timescorn but the effort hasn’t waned one iota.

I don’t disagree, the whole line stinks.

I can appreciate that.

It’s fine to call people out for being dumb , but it’s kind of ironic you use an entirely idiotic argument to do so.
Regardless a near ppg winger at a 6.9 million contract is not the problem.

Nylander lack of effort cost us the game. Send to the 3rd line and bench in the last few games. I would healthy scratch him to see if that lights a fire under him. Needs to watch Blackwell to see what a hard working player looks like. He will be on that line soon anyways.
Actually the guy in your avatar did by getting caught on a stupid pinch with a couple minutes left.

When the 2nd line was doing well, Kerfoot was the gas, Nylander was the motor and Tavares was the guy behind the wheel. Now unfortunately the gas seems pretty stale, the motor is in need of a tune-up badly, and the guy behind the wheel has either fallen asleep or is intoxicated.

Solution may be to blow up that vehicle and build a new one

Just as long as it's not an 18-wheeler

The avatar is very similar to the forward in discussion.
His value is as an offensive d-man, and the rest of his game is average at best.

Nylander has always gone through long stretches where he plays just like this and it can be very frustrating when you know he's capable of so much more. If it was just 1 or 2 games here and there it wouldn't be a big deal but he does this for nearly month periods at a time, sometimes more with a few really good efforts sprinkled in.

I actually thought we were over this pattern, and it’s kind of why I first hesitated highlighting when I started seeing it again. Anyways, he can turn it on and we will all be singing the praises…

I think, as they say that " the die has been cast!" His Dad(the Swedish Gretzky) was the same guy, crazy elite talent, solid work ethic in the gym, less than the ideal drive and will to succeed on the ice.

I can't defend a guy who has played like he could give a shyte for a few months now. At the same time shouldn't the coach try and get him going?

I’m old enough to clearly remember watching his dad play, who was the same way. It’s in the genes I’m convinced.

Good to see him make up for the bad play today and yesterday, but concerning thing is his swagger isn't there right now. His compete will drive us crazy sometimes but the swagger is more troublesome. Not sure whats wrong

Nylander lackadaisical = Kerfoots problem

Nylander lazy forecheck = Tavares sucks

Nylander criticized openly by coach = He won't say it about 34/16 picks on Nylander

Is this how it works?
Taveras flubs is Williams problem,

Kerfoot turnover, Williams problem,

Other players making shitty turnovers that lead to goals but that's okay William your the issue here.

Your stupid argument was met with an equally dumb argument to show how off base you are lmao.

Thought Willy had a real good bounce back game. I feel Matthews put him in a terrible spot with that pass that led to the turnover and goal against... for me, the play for Matthews was a (hard) reverse behind the net. We're going to need more of that from him to be successful going forward.

One of the best? At what?

He’s never been top 20 in goals, assists or points.

I get you like him but pump the brakes on the hyperbole.

maybe he’s not capable of more because he always goes through long stretches like this. Having a motor/intensity is after all a skill. reason why Pastrnak is better.
