Ya he gives us a solid number 2 option. While Dickey and Estrada have been great, I have a lot more confidence in Stroman.

Having Dickey as our #3 right now with the way he's pitching lately is pretty damn good as well. Hell even Estrada as a #4 is awesome. I like our rotation against anybody, we just have to be able to close games out properly. If he hasn't already this is where Osuna as the saying goes "puts on his big boy pants" and really grows up as a pro. No matter how good Price or anyone else pitches it's going to be on Osuna's shoulders to finish games.

I hope we go for the jugular and pound them in the first 2 games. Have to like our chances after that. I'm just hoping we don't get the playoff jitters and get too nervous or anxious at the plate and get owned. Outside of Price and Martin basically this whole team are playoff virgins, just don't want them getting all big eyed and get caught up in the moment

Didn't or couldn't beat out Loup as second lefty? Loup isn't very good or hasn't been.

He wasn't going to be starting with Price, Stroman, Dickey and Estrada -- they're all above Buehrle on the depth chart at this point as starters and you don't need a 5-man rotation for the playoffs.

As far as the bullpen goes, Buehrle just isn't a bullpen arm. I can't see him being all that effective throwing low 80s out of the pen. You have to go with Osuna, Cecil, Sanchez, Hawkins, Lowe, Hendriks and Loup. Loup has probably been the weakest link in the bullpen, but at least he can throw low to mid-90s, as has been in that lefty-speicalist role all season.

And to be fair to Loup, his FIP/xFIP is much better than the results he's seen in terms of his ERA. His HR/FB ratio is probably at least twice what it should be (over 21%) and he's got a good strikeout and walk rate as well.

I feel more comfortable with Dickey pitching in Game 3 because the warmer weather in Texas should make it easier on his knuckle ball.

Loup will be an advantage because the Rangers do have a few lefty bats.

I feel like he'll either be dominant or a flat tire.

Fielder is hitless against Cecil in 5 atbats albiet with 0 ks. Choo hitting .214 with 7ks over 14 atbats.

Could be a situation we see quite a bit with them hitting 2-3.

I hope Dickey pitches game 2 at home. We can close the roof a and give him the perfect environment for the knuckler. I would be scared to pitch him on the road in game 3 at Texas in an uncontrolled environment in a very hitter friendly ballpark.

I would consider it if we win game 1. I would much rather just stack the deck and roll Stroman in game 2 so we can take our shot in 3 games to finish it off.

I don't even want to predict what the outcome of the series will be. I'm just hoping for an electric crowd and a good series.

Well chances are Dickey and Stroman will pitch games 2 and 3 and only 1 in the series so the order doesn't matter much.

I think we've gotta try our best to put a stranglehold on the series and go up 2-0 by going Price, Stroman. But then again, I really want Dickey pitching in the dome.

You realize in 1992 we lost game 1 of BOTH the ALCS and the WS?

I realize there is an extra round and it's only best of 5, but just wanted to through that out there :)
I also wanted to add assuming they make the ALCS and it's against Kansas City, in 1993 when they played the White Sox they did not have home field and won the series in 6 games back in Chicago.

Clear EYES.
Full HEARTS.
Go BLUE JAYS.

This is it. Give it all you can.

You don't think the Rangers are ******** their pants. They're scared. I have faith in this team unlike the Raps, it's the feeling you get beforehand. Price will be the key. And Stroman, we'll see how he handles pressure.

If the Blue Jays happen to lose Game 1 which no one wants to see happen, I think in that circumstance they need to start Storman in Game 2. My ideal scenario is the Jays being up 2-0 and taking their chances with Dickey in Game 3.

Yup...winning only one game at home! The Jays won the first two at Comisky, then the White Sox won the next two at the dome before the Jays finished it off in 6.
