So Gibby is willing to let Buerhle throw on a days rest to reach 200.... Don't know how I feel about this especially after the loss today. I've got mad respect for Mark and it would be cool to see him get 200 for the 15 year in a row but really? 1 days rest?

he's not going to get a full start. Just the 2 innings needed. It's very possible to go 2 IP on 1 day rest.

According to the MLB website for Games 1 & 2 in the United States is going to be broadcast on Fox, Fox Sports1, or the MLB Network. Game 3 is as TBD, Game 4 is on Fox or Fox Sports1 and Game 5 is Fox Sports or Fox Sports1. So who knows what will mean for being broadcast in the afternoon or during prime time.

I will drop it now and only bring it up if we lose to Texas or KC.

But seriously Osuna is probably our 3rd best reliever right now.

Because losing to Texas is directly tied to not having the best record in the AL?

Seriously, if we lose to Texas in the ALDS, whose to say we wouldn't have lost to them in the ALCS if we did have the AL record?

1) It's likely only to be 2 innings. not a big deal

2) He's retiring after that, and will not be on the post-season roster. So it's not like there are any really significant concerns for him beyond that start.

3) Today would've been his bullpen session day today, so going out tomorrow and throwing 30-40 pitches won't be significantly different from that.

Since the alternative is Hutch and/or one of the scrubbier pen-arms (Francis?) getting the long, multi-inning run to start the game, it's not a huge deal.

If KC faces Houston, think we'd get prime time? I know of course we wouldn't get prime time if the Yanks win the WC game and play the Royals.

TBH I would rather play against Texas then either NY or the Astros. I don't really care if the Royals get 1st in the league. I would not be surprised if KC drops the ALDS either.

Can the Angels still get into the Wild Card? If so and somehow the Jays win tomorrow, the Royals lose that means Toronto gets the best AL record based on the tie breaker. Anyway if the Angles get into the Wild Card game, win and play Toronto, I can see Toronto getting Prime Time because of Mike Trout. Although you would think the season Josh Donaldson had should be enough for that to happen.

If the Angels lose or Astros win tomorrow, the Angels are eliminated.

Question re the 25 man rosters. The rest of the players go home? Are they allowed in the dug out? Gosh as much as I watched baseball in the years past I didn't really pay attention.

I believe they are they just can't be called on to pay. And if so that means Kawasaki can keep the boys loose. :)

Since the minor league seasons are over I would assume they can be in the dugout, they just can't play. Using a Hockey analogy when a team wins the Stanley Cup the players who were scratched were still allowed to celebrate in their jerseys and skate onto the ice, so it would the same when their teams win the ALCS/NLCS and World Series.

I wonder if they're bringing Rose on for post-season game panels.

No ****. I'm getting a little bored of the holier-than-thou crowd.

New and casual fans are welcome - we all love baseball and like to see its popularity spread. But when those new fans counter reasonable and informed responses from the more veteran posters by virtually just repeating themselves and talking louder, it gets tiring quick on this end. If you're new to the sport or newly re-invested in it, be humble and willing to learn.

I have to say I'm kind of worried about facing Gallardo. I know it's a SSS but still. Hope he only starts one game in the 5 game series.

Maybe it would be a good thing if the Rangers/Astros tie for the division tomorrow.

It'd be great if we get Hamels/Holland in game 1 and 2 and then Gallardo in gm 3.

Greinke likely done tonight. Throws another gem to counter Arrieta's performance. His final ERA will be 1.66!!
