Will Ovechkin hit 20 goals this season?

As a native of a non english speaking nation i have some advice:

Perhaps before using cool derogatory terms like bag of meat, learn proper english. It will serve you better in the long run when you're acting like the BMOC online.
When I called him that, I didn't even know that it was "cool derogatory term", I just thought how can I call him by a name that I haven't used on this site yet:laugh:

When I want to make a grammatically correct post, I just use an online translator

Just because they are winning really has nothing to do with the fact that they have and continue to do so this season giving Ovi elite usage and pedestrian results.

I would suggest being more thoughtfully when throwing out the stupid phrase, especially when it doesn't apply.
Second highest PP TOI/GP among all forwards, 207th in G/60 on PP. He's being force fed but refusing to eat.

I don’t even know how the caps are winning. Not even one player in the top 50 in points.
lets not get carried away and call it winning. its more of beating the bad teams and the good teams throwing up all over themselves then anything else. still enjoyable but imo kind of feels like waiting for the floor to drop out.

It is interesting to talk about some star goalscorers if you enjoy their game, do anybody really enjoys the way this untalented bag of meat played?

Lemme guess. You're 13 years old and have no clue about the level of excitement and press coverage Ovechkin brought to the NHL in his prime.

Him and Crosby were like McDavid/Bedard x10.

Just a reverse jinx post so he might actually score today. It's getting laughable now, but his team keeps winning.

And he is also getting by far the most premium minutes among all Capital forwards...without the production.

Maybe an empty net goal incoming eh?

Do the Capitals no use Ovie in the shootouts? or has he been demoted? I know the goals don't count, but that seems like a message.

I’m beginning to think we will see another goalie goal before we see Ovechkin score his next one.

Over 22 minutes tonight, most minutes of any forward and 2nd highest on the team, 4 shots on net and minus one. Do the right thing and hang it up at the end of the year. Sad to see athletes trying to hang on too long, go out with grace.

It may still be simply a slump and he may still get 25-30 this season.

But even if he doesn't come out of his current slump, there is no way he is retiring. Not with money still owed to him and not with the goals record still to chase.

He wants the goals record. That will be his legacy. He will continue playing until he breaks the goals record.

With each passing game, we are 26 games in now, it seems less and less that this is a slump but rather this is the definitive start of the end.

The only question is how long this will go on for.

Most of the all time greats don't play another season after a dip like the one currently Ovi is on.

I understand what you are saying.

But comparing him to other all-time greats is comparing apples to oranges, because none of those all-time greats were chasing Gretzky's goals record.

I wouldn't know what is going on inside of Ovechkin's head. But I would bet that he obsessively wants the goals record.

I don't think it's apples to oranges given that he ahs only 5 goals this year it's very difficult seeing him get the record now.

It's getting a little bit embarrassing but even more so with how the capitals are winning despite his usage and lack of production.

Gretzky retired because he said he was no longer playing the game at the level he was used to. This was from a player who scored 62 pts in 70 games in his final season. Does Ovi have the same kind of class? Or is he so desperate to break Gretzky's record he will do just about anything?
