They're either trading Kerfoot or Sandin. Based on how tight the cap is around the league i'm guessing we're getting dog shit offers for Kerfoot - maybe even asking for us to pay to offload him, hence why its taking so long.

There has been no indication from the team that they want to trade Kerfoot.

Yes, that is what we believe, but there is nothing from the team.
Well obviously they aren't saying they want to trade Kerfoot. Their bargaining position right now is already horrible as is. IMO we'll be lucky to trade him for future considerations/nothing. Teams right now are probably trying to get us to pay to offload him. Just the reality of todays cap world.

You are entitled to your opinion. I disagree. I don't think they would trade Kerfoot.

It seems that if there is a way to get on the wrong side of the leverage Dubas finds it.

"I know that there's a narrative that we should just get something, but you're saving a team significant dollars on the salary cap [with that 8th year]. That comes with a cost, and we're not going to bend on that"

Looks like teams aren't bending on that right now with Kerfoot

That is a possibility if the Leafs are trying to trade him.

Remember when we thought we were getting a second for him lol

Trade, waivers, start with 20 on the roster. They may even trade Kerfoot. I don't think so, but I don't know.
Leafs currently are around 193k over the cap with a 20 man roster because of the Liljegren's $212k bonus overage charge to our cap this season (assuming Simmonds makes the team). If Simmonds doesn't make the team and is replaced by someone making league minimum, they would still be roughly 43k over the cap.

I believe that Kerfoot will be moved, I'm just still confused as to how 55% voted both will be on the team. I would like to see someone post a cap compliant roster where Kerfoot+Holl are both still here (no using LTIR either, there have been no credible rumours surrounding anyone missing the start of the season).

There are a few people who think Kerfoot will be moved. Some people even believe that offers have been low or that Dubas will have to add something just to move him. I am not one of them.

It's evident that something will have to happen which those two being the obvious candidates.
If I had to pick one I'd prefer they move Holl and sign Sandin but certainly wouldn't be distraught if Kerfoot was shown the door.
Hard to say which of the two has more value, guess that depends on the team.

If Sandin signs at a best case scenario 1.4x2 same as Liljegren, only moving Holl would probably work. But it's rumoured Lewis Gross is using the recent Romanov and Boqvist deals (around 2.5x3 for each) as comparables.

Sandin likely ends up signing closer to Holl's 2M than Liljegren's 1.4M. Which could mean moving Holl might not clear any cap room. My guess is Kerfoot has to be the one to move.

IMO, Sandin isn't deserving of more than Liljegren and should sit until he realizes that.

To re-sign Sandin and Leafs already +$1.4 mil over the ceiling then Kerfoot seems like the perfect candidate with $3.5 mil cap hit to move for Leafs to ice a legal opening night roster baring a injury that seens someone start the year on LTIR.

If we take on a contract that is LTIR'd, that solves our issue right? This may be the route they are trying to go.

Move him, he isn't worth that yet
