Why? Anyone that’s played with Danault has flourished!
Iafallo-Danault-Kempe anyone??? Played much better than our current 2nd line.. Kaliyev on the second line looked better than Arvy!!
What I’m saying is that Arvy at 29 isn’t a LT answer on this team so he’s one of the spots that’ll open and maybe even Iafallo.. one has to go as Kupari is ready for a top 9 role
I don’t think they move on from RV, he has this year and next. Moore will earn anther contract. Both are known quantities.
This my point spots just aren’t gonna be there top six or maybe even top nine.

I just want to see AT avoid injury and play well in ONT the rest of this year and maybe even into next year before any talk about competing for the NHL roster. Injuries have delayed his development at least 2 years, IMO.

I simply hope Turcotte becomes an NHL player and can fulfill his dream....all sorts of bad luck with injuries and he seems like a good dude. Hope he can score an NHL goal.

Sad is the right word unfortunately. He looks quite flat emotionally which is hard to see from someone that’s always so upbeat. I’m sure (hope) in time he will completely bounce back but that was a tough watch.

Lots of guys he played with are up with the big club, that has to be so frustrating.
Justin Williams had all kinds of injuries earlier in his career but finally was able to stay healthy for a number of years after. You hope this kid will soon do the same.'

Great points here. If I had the choice, i'd keep Iafallo over Arvidsson.
I think Turcotte could do very well in an Iafallo type role for the team. Look how well Vilardi and Byfield clicked with Iafallo. Guy who hounds the puck and has a 200 foot game. Every line needs one of these guys.
It's easy to go back to Turcotte's draft class and say "Why the hell didn't we take Seider/Zegras/Boldy?" but no one knows how these guys are going to pan out, especially with injuries. Vilardi did it, hopefully Alex can also.

It's different when you talk about head injuries. Look at what Crosby went through. We all know about Deadmarsh. It's not even about hockey at that point; you just want these guys to have a decent quality of life at the end of the day.
I think the point I’m trying to make is not that he isn’t skilled or that the injuries need to be overcome.
In two years the roster has these players.
Fiala Kopitar Kempe
**** Danault Arvidsson
Iaffalo Byfield Kaliyev
**** **** ****
I’m assuming Vilardi and Moore will be resigning.
That leaves two spots by 23-24 with numerous prospects competing for them.
I believe Turcotte’s contract is up after 23-24.
He likely doesn’t get a shot this year due to injuries.
A trade can change the landscape of course.
If he makes the team in two years it’s likely a fourth line spot. They could resign him for The 24-25 season when Kopi may retire and RV is gone. By that time he needs to hope his prospect competition hasn’t passed him up.
He was chosen 5OA for a reason, just saying the squeeze is getting tighter for his opportunity to stick imho.

By most historical measures, it’s unlikely Turcotte carves out a top six career in the NHL. But given the sudden turnaround of Vilardi, maybe the Kings can summon the same magic.

Exactly. Hopefully he can avoid anything else and in a short time be back at it. The good thing is that we haven’t rushed him back which will be huge and likely played a big role in other players losing their careers (Deadmarsh). Bowen Byram (so far) shows that recovery is entirely possible, although there is no telling how similar the respective concussions were.

Vilardi shows what patience is doing a player development and so will Turcotte.

It was an idea. I didn't say it was a good idea.
Arvidsson's contract runs out next season. I'd be surprised if he was still here in two seasons.
He's got this year and next . Turcotte also ends after 23-24. Arvidsson still will eat a spot.
Yeah, they’ll both will be expiring contracts but one they’ll be patient with while the other will be looking for a new team to cash in with

Just wanna toss this out there as someone was actually physically present at that Turcotte post game...
The team just lost. It was a bad game. The mood was low.
Not suggesting that I have any idea about his overall mood or anything just saying... EVERYBODY we talked to after that game was low energy. The mood after losses in that building is always like that.

Fair enough and hopefully it’s just that. Perhaps given context and the line of questioning I misread the situation. I certainly hope so.
