The Jets of the 90's were scrappers, but the Atlanta version has never one a playoff game. If the Wild can win Game One then the Jets will have trouble. A great regular season finish can make things very frustrating when you get punched in the nose early in the second season.
What koolaid are you drinking? Wild fan here. Jets will not be in trouble at any point. What will be the problem will be like Tuesday, not enough offence.

I think the winner of Game 1 wins the series. The Wild find themselves down 2-0 practically every playoff series, so I'm not getting my hopes up.

Wild have their fair share of player with no Playoff experience this year: Foligno, Greenway, Murphy, Seeler, and Soucy; and JEE only has 3 games with little ToI. It'll be interesting to see if any of them have another level to their game.

The System

Not going to be a cakewalk for Winnipeg like people think. I could be wrong though

Getting Spurgeon back would be very helpful.

The game that the Wild won 4-1 while putting up 40+ shots?
Ok I must have drank the koolaid! Lol. Obviously I mixed my games up. Again I hope I’m wrong but I would be delighted if they won a game in Winnipeg.

I have to admit that if the Wild lose to the Jets I will probably be rooting for them. If Buff decides to decapitate Brodin, or eats Granlund during a scrum then I will change my mind.

My dirty little secret that I will now share with the world...I was born in WPG, or St. Boniface, to be exact. Still like the Blue Bombers...I mean, how cool of a name is THAT?

I think you need to get yourself one of these ;)

WE ARE WINNIPEG T-SHIRT

Zucker has been quiet lately, he only has two goals in the last ten games. Usually that means he is about to go off. My gut tells me he is going to have a big series.
I hope so he usually plays well against Winnipeg also.

Same with Laine.... :)

Zucker is the best player on the Wild in my opinion. He always brings it and always looks dangerous.

I'll never forget the goal he scored like 10 seconds into a game against the Jets. Trouba got totally turnstiled and that has never happened before that, or since... Lol

3v3 OT and SO have 0 bearing on Playoff hockey. I was just looking at the stats to see what they were (81 games played).

Jets: 5-8 (13 OT games), 4-2 (6 SO games). I thought the Jets would have had a winning 3v3 record. The SO record is about what I expected.
Wild: 4-8 (12 OT games), 3-3 (6 SO games). Wild just can't figure out how to play 3v3. The SO is a coin flip so .500 record is okay.

I gotcha. I guess I have seen some of that, but it's hard for me to fault them for their confidence.
Alot of fans like myself, do not expect a walk in the park at all, Minny is a good team, and are definitely coming to dance, many of us don't dare call this a walk in the park, and are at best cautiosly optimistic.

The main boards tend to bring out the worst fans from all fanbases imo.

Here is hoping for a fun, good matchup, and some friendly, yet cheeky banter fanbases between.

Btw, your's is the State I feel the most at home in, whenever I have visited the US, geographically, weatherwise, and for the friendly locals.

After a few cocktails..... **** the Jets. Let's get this thing started. It's all Jets fans here, blah blah blah, here to lube you up so we can stick itin ya. I'd rather have it with no lube thank you. We know Coyle and Granny are bringing playoff hockey A game, because they always do. Let's hope the rest don't disappear this year. I love the Jets. They have my favorite player. 33. But only until tonight. Now I hate. I'll drop the gloves. Wanna go? Lol. Playoff hockey rocks, everything else sucks.

Kind of an hot take here. I’m more concerned about Dubnyk then the Defense tbh.
Not a hot take at all. Dubnyk has been mediocre in the playoffs. If he can play well he can keep us in it. Dubnyk has proven that he can steal games. We will need him big time.

As for the defense the thing that scares me the most is the transition game with the Jets forwards. Need to limit the odd man rushes and the good shots off of the transition and we will have a good chance

This is one of those series where the head-to-head results from the season really mean nothing to me.

G1 (Oct 20): Granny, Nino, Coyle, Parise all out. Stewie, Reilly, Mitchell, Kunin, Quincey, Ferraro all played. Dub in net
G2 (Oct 31): Nino's 1st game back from injury, Granny's 4th game back. Coyle, Parise out. Stewie, Reilly, Olofsson, Kunin, in. Stalock in net.
G3 (Nov 27): Coyle, Parise, Spurgeon out. Quincey, Stewie, Mitchell in. Stalock in net.
G4 (Jan 13): Nino out. Stewie, Olofsson in. Parise's 5th game back. Dub in net.
-Suter played in all 4 games.

The Wild never really got to play the Jets with a healthy top-6 or a 4th line that was worth putting on the ice. Seeler (Soucy)/Prosser 3rd pair is a vast improvement over whatever the Wild iced in the first 3 games. It's been almost half a season since these two teams played each other. I think fans forget these things when they look at the series results. Both teams have changed since the Oct, Nov, and Jan games. The Wild haven't played once against the Jets with Stastny (for a Jets team difference).

I see this series as a total question mark on how the teams will fair against each other. I dunno if that is good or bad for either team, just saying the team dynamics are different.

I agree that Nashville and Winnipeg are the teams to beat, but the Wild ARE one of the few teams that can compete with them. The playoffs are a new and different kind of season. I'm glad this board wasn't around in 1991, because I may have never bought North Star playoff tickets that year.
