Surely the coach/GM of SKA needs to get good results, just like here, or he'll get fired? Wouldn't sabotaging Marat hurt his team's chances of winning?
I think this is a reach. Khusnutdinov is playing about half of what he was per game last year. Yurov might be a streaky player, just like the guy I keep comparing him too…So Yurov has 4 points in 10gp, and Marat 0 in 5gp. Yikes. Just a reality check for those expecting Marat to come in and be better than Rossi.
51 pts. in 53 gp. 0.9622641509433996 PPG.I think this is a reach. Khusnutdinov is playing about half of what he was per game last year. Yurov might be a streaky player, just like the guy I keep comparing him too…
Both are in the last year of their contracts.
Should also be noted that Rossi wasn’t a ppg player in the AHL, despite playing huge minutes, and had a really bad start in the NHL.
Seems like cutting off your nose to spite your face, to me, but I am no KHL expert.Yes and no. I won't pretend to know all the intricacies but SKA and Roman Rotenberg both have some pretty close ties to Putin directly, from what I understand, and there's probably a lot of pressure to keep young KHL talent from defecting to the US, especially these days. On top of that, he's a VP for the company that owns SKA.
I'm sure a Russian poster could come in and explain all the politics and intricacies if they wanted to, but the gist I get is that he's pretty safe.
Eh, the NHL can be political to its own detriment too, just in different ways. Neither of them are really true merit leagues all the time.Seems like cutting off your nose to spite your face, to me, but I am no KHL expert.
0.9622641509433996 ppg isn’t 1.00 ppg. There’s actually an infinite amount of numbers between the two.51 pts. in 53 gp. 0.9622641509433996 PPG.
I truly don't know. I just know that Rossi has done extremely well, production wise, in the AHL, though for me, he hasn't always passed the eye test. Since i don't watch KHL outside of highlights, and even if I did, Yurov didn't play enough last year to make any conclusions, I'll just plead ignorance. I will assume that others predicting great things for Marat and Yurov have made them after watching significant amounts of their games, otherwise it's simply liking the idea of having some skilled, talented guy in a far off land developing better than Rossi.0.9622641509433996 ppg isn’t 1.00 ppg. There’s actually an infinite amount of numbers between the two.
Do we think Yurov or Khusnutdinov wouldn’t be putting up similar numbers in his spot? I think they would be around the same numbers.
How's Masters doing,? Think he'll stick in the AHL?
I don't know either but I'm going to say he sticks in Iowa. They sent down all the junior guys after the first game so they could rejoin their junior teams before the season starts. I also think its because Iowa Wild did meet prospect profiles on all the young guys that will likely be there (him, Spacek, Bankier, etc.). He's a decent sized guy that had a great year - unsure how much left there is for him for an overage season. It wouldn't shock me if he was looked at as a PP QB either. Three righties and four lefties...one is hurt, so it'd be 3 and 3 to start the season.I don't think anyone really knows. He didn't play in the first game, and no one was able to watch the second game. My guess (pure guess) is that they probably wanna send him back to the CHL if he's still eligible so he actually gets some playing time. O'Rourke, Hunt, Lambos, Spacek, Johansson and Mermis will all be in Iowa and I think there are a couple more guys already there.
That's great news.Good news on Ohgren:
"(Incidentally, 2022 first-round pick Liam Ohgren was in town to see Wild doctors about an upper-body injury he suffered in Sweden this offseason. The Wild got positive news. President and general manager Bill Guerin told The Athletic that Ohgren doesn’t need surgery and can begin skating when he returns to Sweden)."
The US Healthcare system at work! You like fine, Liam, skate it off! That'll be $500, you can pay at reception.Good news on Ohgren:

Ok, Haight got out there at the end...thankfully. Looked worse.Well Haight just got hit (clean) and looked like he couldn't put weight on his leg. Wasn't put out there for extra man with game on the line.
Was having a great game - 1g, 1a, had a two on one that he couldn't connect with his teammate and there was another great pass that his linemate should've buried.
Kumpulainen had two scoring chances as well.
Heidt has two goals so far tonight. Could've had the hat trick couple of minutes ago if linemate passed it back...
Just made a fantastic defensive play, likely stopping a scoring chance and then follows it up with a blocked shot at the point.
I think KaprizovSaveUs has some connection to him. Seems to me he might end up being a bottom sixer in 3-4 years. He's got the size that we are lacking in many of our forward prospects.Does anyone know anything about about Rieger Lorenz? Like...he straight up isn't even a known quantity at this point.
