Many goals Helle had no chance but he didn't exactly make many game savers either when the Jets would've needed those. The Jets weren't at their best clearly, but also shouldn't be surprised to see Wild finally show up to play at home. They were the 2nd best team in the league at home, after Jets. It's not a bad team, Laine is the only player in the series who scored more goals than Staal last season, then they have a Koivu as 2nd C, this is a player who's been regularly in the Selke talks the last few seasons. Granlund seems always great in important games and never gives up and Parise looks back to his old self. Also their bottom-6 was way more effective at home.
IMO it comes down to ultimately the Jets top-6 being more offensively dangerous and having more depth bottom-6. Wild lost some important pieces in the expansion draft which really hurt their bottom-6, while Jets have players like Little, Armia, Lowry & Copp. If both teams get good goaltending, the Jets should prevail. Winning game 4 would be huge.
To be honest I kinda like the Wild showing up and making it a series. Not that I would've minded a clean sweep but it's a good wake up call to the Jets and also lets them figure out how to bounce back after a playoff loss. What I didn't like was breaking down after the 4-2 goal and suddenly it was 6-2, then to me it seemed they kinda gave up and there wasn't any serious push in the 3rd period. But then again, while you should always try to win up to the last second in the playoffs, with their travel mess and everything, maybe they just knew in their hearts coming into the 3rd that this is a game they have no chance of stealing. Could be wise to just take it relatively easy and play a sensible game, but can't afford any more of that. Game 4 they need to be ready from the beginning and give it their all to the very end.
