Many leafs supporters despise the jets simply because of Laine. Too late. Can’t have him ;)
Jets are my team in the west and I'm a Leafs fan. Lived in Winnipeg for some time, months after I moved back to Ontario they get an NHL team, :ha:. I don't mind Laine, that beard though LOL

I think he's talking about the broadcaster (Rogers in this case), rather than the fans.
I've said this before, Paul Romanuk is not loved by the Leafs either and should be given the boot from Sportsnet. It may be the one thing both fan bases can agree on.

Anyways, didn't watch the whole game but from what I say I couldn't see anything the Jets needed to adjust for game 4. Just a bad night with questionable reffing. I don't understand why the league doesn't assign refs to certain series? That give the teams an idea as to what is being let go or called and none of this wishy washy guessing game depending on what the ref feels like that day.

Nope. Jets should just skate them into the ice and let them try to goon it up. Jets' mistake early in this game was trying to get overly physical. Chiarot got two dumb penalties. He just needs to play a simple physical game and move the puck better than he did tonight. That's the recipe for success for the Jets.

I don't think discipline as a problem tonight considering the Jets had more PPs. I disagree. I have no problem with Chiarot sitting in the PB for 5 minutes to make Foligno answer for his actions.

Funny thing is, Lowry seemed to agree with them. Okay, it's not really funny, just odd.

Yeah but Lowry is giving that interview right after the game ended, he likely has not see any replays. I thought the play was clean too until I saw the replays on twitter. They never showed a compromising replay of the incident on the broadcast.

Rewatched the intermission after Myers went down and thought that both Ron Maclean and Elliot Friedman thought it was intentional but didn't want to outright say it. Kypreos might've been alone in his assessment of it being accidental. Apparently the NBC crew thought it was intentional too, I'm going to see if NBC had better angles before I post any gifs of it.

The angle of Foligno on Trouba is terrible on the Sportsnet feed as well, they cut to a camera in the corner right as it happened. As a result it only catches Trouba's back and the motion of his head. The replay isn't much better.
Sportsnet's feed on NHLtv is also choppy as hell, colour balance is way off on the main camera, and I have to listen to the play by play again.

Well, that was far from ideal. It looks like Myers won't miss too much time? I didn't think Helly was as bad as some are saying. He couldn't see 1 or 2 of those plus a deflection and a perfect shot and nobody taking guys in front.

I thought our PP started looking stale 10 games b4 the season ended and they should have started tweaking back then or at least have some new wrinkles ready for the post-season.

I'm not worried at all and still think we prevail. This team has shown remarkable resolve all season.

No team goes perfect in the playoffs. We were due for a loss, and now we got that out of the way Jets will be back.

I would agree on Myers -- he got off the ice with no assistance, and was walking around in the tunnel shortly thereafter-unassisted. If it was a torn knee ligament ( ACL) or some kind of leg fracture, he would have needed assistance off the ice, and not be walking around after-- on his own.

Let's hope he's OK--he's one of our best scoring Dmen.

Welp as Auston Matthews says, "S*** happens in hockey":laugh::laugh:
Count me as one of those who switched to the NBC feed.
Dear lord, Sportsnet that was maddening. What's next adding Damian Cox as a 3rd voice

Don’t give them any ideas...

I wish they'd get another play by play announcer --that guy--Romanuk, is very boring. I wouldn't mind Dave Randorff, or Chris Cuthbertson.

Instead of constantly complaining about Romanuk and Galley I suggest you guys like me watch the game on mute or watch the Wild feed.

Don’t have access to the Wild feed and watching on mute takes away so much from the game. The problem is these so-called “national” sportscasters are obviously completely biased.

Wacthed two periods and went to sleep. Whole team sucked big time. Lowry line was pretty Ok, other than that it was awful.

Can you please stop talking about Galley and Romanuk?
Seriously turn off the volume if you don't like them ... they are discussed more than the players playing the game.

Foligno's headshot on Trouba - Regular speed NBC and Sportsnet both with audio, and then a slow-mo of what I thought is the best angle of it from NBC. One thing the Sportsnet broadcast left out is that Maurice is talking to the ref after this hit, tells them to watch for head contact, I can get a clip if anyone wants that too.

Separated these posts because of the 3 embed limit, felt like some of it would get missed if they weren't embedded.

The hit on Myers from the Sportsnet and NBC perspectives -
Realtime play by play was a terrible angle, only catching it at the corner of the screen on both broadcasts so I didn't clip it. NBC only had one angle that I could find.

Sportsnet's clip replays it over and over zoomed in, that was during the intermission, I didn't edit it at all.
I can slow down the clips if anyone wants it, but the angles are poor.

Sportsnet's -

Of all people to tell others to stop complaining..?

How do you know if someone else has a 2nd feed or not? It’s ignorant to assume others may have it and turning the tv on mute is pretty boring. Like why watch the game then?

Foligno's hit on Trouba was shoulder on head. The way it's ruled by the DOPS is "principle point of contact", well Foligno got nothing but head there. If Doughty got suspended for a game Foligno should get 2. Straight up looks like he's targeting the head the entire way in and raises his shoulder into it.

Commentators are a big part of the game. People talk about refs instead of players all the time, same can be said for commentators.

Got baited into some bad penalties in the 1st and it cost them. They weren't ready for a team playing desperate.

Hard to blame the refs with the number of PPs they got.
