The only point Gord could make was that other teams hate the Leafs and the attention they get.

Oh yeah, I'm sure this is it.

They gave up two goals directly related to penalties taken because they were upset at Kadri. I don't care if it affected the game outside of that, it allowed the Leafs to score two goals and the Sharks lost by two. It's really that simple.
Must be a Canadian thing![]()
Oh yeah, I'm sure this is it.
It is not directly related to give up a goal after a penalty expired to a fluke bounce off a d-man's skate. It is not directly related to give up a four on four goal off a horrendous turnover by Kane where the situation is only that because the refs made a bad call. Stop being overly simplistic because you don't want to critically assess the game properly due to your own intellectual laziness.
In this particular scenario people need to forget about loving or hating a team or player, separate themselves from that type of emotion and understand this-
Any team in the league, from 100 years ago to well past 100 years from now, who has a 40 yr old legendary player on its roster and feels that player was disrespected will go over the top to try and show they wont tolerate it. The legitimacy of whether or not that player is actually disrespected or to what degree is irrelevant.
Any team the league who has a 40 year old legendary hall of famer that feels that player hasn’t been shown the ultimate respect will go over the top to try and make a point about it. Every team.
It’s always been like this and it always will be like this.
The honorable thing would have been Kadri to fight and get it over with. Not surprised he declined.
Starting the 4th line and expecting Kadri to fight wasn't exactly honorable on the Sharks end. Kadri has no reason to fight some random plugThe honorable thing would have been Kadri to fight and get it over with. Not surprised he declined.
Backes has 3 inches and about 35-40 lbs on Kadri. LOL @ your last sentence, Kadri isn't a fighter himself, yet he took on a guy that has 4 inches and also about 40 lbs on him. Regardless of whether Joe is a fighter or not he's strong as f*** still.Marchand is 5'9 if that. Comparing apples to oranges doesn't work typically.
Kadri is closer to Backes (2"?) than Marchand is to nearly any NHL player (not that players even challenge him, baffling I might add). Thornton is a non fighter.
Why would it have been honorable to random fight because the other team is upset?
I've never seen a fanbase and team get so choked up over pubes coming off of some guy's face.I haven't seen a player puss out and turtle as much as Kadri did last night since the days of Steve Ott.
Except you are writing this assuming that it was intentional. It is clear you've never fought a day in your life.Do you follow old school hockey? Whether you are a Leafs fan or not, I know you moderate the Leafs board. You have to agree some things in hockey do not change. Kadri grabbed Thornton's beard last year in a fight. You simply do not do this in hockey. It is equivalent to pulling hair in a fight. As a hockey player Kadri knows the code of the game. I am old school when it comes to this. Much better to drop them than have a Kadri hurt with something more severe. If he dropped them in the first min, the Sharks would have left him a lone the rest of the game.
Do you recall how Cooke fought Thornton? It was settled right there and then. He did the honorable thing. And that was far worse than beard pulling.
The Sharks thought it was intentional. Really I don't know what you are saying here, you actually want us to believe a player cannot distinguish hair from a jersey. First of all a jersey doesn't hang 4 inches from a players face.Except you are writing this assuming that it was intentional. It is clear you've never fought a day in your life.
