Get a grip, San Jose.

“I have no idea why they’re so bitter about it, especially when he’s the one who initiated with me,” Kadri said. “It’s not like I went out looking for it. But I knew they’d be pretty agitated from the start and I figured I’d run with that.”

He's so full of it. That bs is transparent. lol

Keep telling yourself that, lol.

Not to mention if Jumbo didn't care, he can shut down the theatrics in a minute. It was obviously pre meditated, the coach stated as much. Complete scum move. Glad it backfired.

Just because the coach went out of his way to do that doesn't mean that Thornton had anything to do with it. Coaches can be idiots all on their own without help from players.

And most likely are losing much worse if 2 penalties directly related to Kadri didn't lead to 2 Leaf goals.

Comprehension indeed.
How the hell are the goals directly related to Kadri when they were both scored at even strength? What's next, the short handed goal was scored directly because the brilliant Leaf player took a penalty?

The ref stupidly evening up Kadri and Meier had no impact on the result of the game. Nor did Kadri have anything to do with Tavares banking a centering pass off Vlasic's skate.

Guess Big Joe was too scared. Nazem is pretty imposing!

Head coach Mike Babcock seemed amused by all the dramatics, but added “there’s no one tougher on their team than Big Joe. If he wanted to look after something that happened in the past, he could probably do that.

I guess Debour doesn't respect his captain enough to consult on game play. It reflects on the ice. Not surprising.

When he’s not smiling, he looks like Jose Bautista. Throws like him too.

Does he throw like this?

They were just talking about it here on TSN radio, that the Sharks broadcasters were very noticibly bitter Kadri wouldn’t fight anybody at any point when Sharks players kept coming at him in waves to fight. Why? What did Kadri need to answer for and why were the commentators and some fans expecting him to and angry he wouldn’t? Andi Petrillo and Gord Miller seemed baffled. The only point Gord could make was that other teams hate the Leafs and the attention they get.

Very weird, especially for professional announcers to take that kind of approach.

Hardly surprising. Kadri is a rat and rats never fight.

Just put his head to the dasher and get him off the ice. Solved

He absolutely did. Leafs are 9-0 when scoring first. They scored as a direct result of some random going after Kadri. Goal goes in. Leafs remain perfect when scoring first. Kadri basically won that game last night.
I have to assume you're joking.

If not, good luck trying to find that rationality that you lost.

I guess Kadri can't be a rat then, since he has fought

I guess Matt Cooke wasn't a rat when people jump his bones and start belting.

The other option is sucker punching the dude until mitts fall off. Similar what Nurse did could years back.

One of the more famous stories on the great 01-02 team in Detroit is Brett Hull pulling Sean Avery back down on the bench and telling him not to talk to Mr. Sakic like that. There was an interesting part of that, but those guys grew up in an era where the game was a lot more brutal and they were not to be touched. The price for doing it was on display more often and the retaliation on your star was very real. I think it is something that is tough to replicate today with the way the game and players have changed. Keep in mind when looking at those players you're discussing helped take the league though (I understand all of professional sports exploded) as a built the league and my fortune feel there in my opinion.

People are not going to be allowed to take liberties with old Crosby. Marleau is a guy that isn't to be touched around the league. Zetterberg the last few years you could tell guys were not to disrespect him. They exist still, it just has different feel in the game. It isn't changing back in my opinion so we just have to embrace the subtle differences.

Yeah I remember that story. Great story. If I recall, Avery called him “Joe” or “Sakic”, followed by an insult, and Hull told Avery to call him “Mr. Sakic”. Not something the public would’ve seen much of, given the Wings-Avs rivalry at the time, but good of Hull to reel Avery in line.

Why are Leafs fans so upset about the Sharks broadcasters getting upset about Kadri? Whats the point of this thread?

Leafs fan being Leafs fan.

Im not sure which one has bigger problems with their ego, Leafs fans or Thornton.

Kadri should get zero credit for the win for Toronto or the loss for the Sharks. People are putting him up like some perfectly timed storm who had the sharks all
Messed up, when all in all he’s just a pest who can play.

Our defense has been lacking while or puck possession poor, and if you turn the puck over as much as we did against a fast and talented team like the Leafs, it’s going to hurt you.

Toronto fans need to stop glorifying a pest and sharks fans need to stop complaining about him. He had little affect on the game, we short ourselves in the foot.

Glorifying a 30 goal scorer pest? Sure, we'll do that! Kadri is one of our most important players.
