Why was the Sharks broadcast team so upset Kadri wouldn’t fight last night?

Leafs fan being Leafs fan.

Im not sure which one has bigger problems with their ego, Leafs fans or Thornton.

I hope Thornton doesn’t have an ego. He hasn’t deserved it. He’s fair game. He’s no Yzerman or Sakic. Kadri ripping off that monstrosity was worth a few laughs.

Once again, semantics. As if him being the A or C really matters, jeez. He's part of the leadership group, end of story.

From the coach's perspective, no it doesn't matter. If a coach wants to do something, the captain nor the alternates are going to change his mind all the time. Trying to put responsibility of a coach's decision to send a 4th liner out there on Thornton is just silly and a huge overreach.

Again, I guess the coach doesn't respect his leadership group, and it shows on the ice. Well done.

You guess wrong. You just don't understand the player-coach dynamic. A coach doesn't always go through his players to make a coaching decision in-game. It has nothing to do with respecting the leadership group. Keep reaching and keep clowning it up.

Sharks wanted Kadri to answer for his fight with Joe last year.....which is a bit of an old school mentality and depends on Kadri following the "code". Leafs are a very none old school team and fair to say Kadri doesn't follow/believe in any "code". He's a pest......that's what he does.....pests don't operate by a code typically unless their taking a much better player with them to the box.

Semantics, a San Jose specialty.
he was the captain, then he let his team choke a 3-0 series lead against the kings in 2014, and got stripped of the captaincy while the kings won their 2nd cup in 3 seasons, something the sharks are waiting to still win in their history. oh what could've been.

Wonder if Joe Thorton has any interest in being Toronto's 4C at league minimum next year? Doubt there would be any hard feelings provided he cracks the roster after training camp.
If he was interested in a 1st round exit, he'd just stay out west and sign in Anaheim.

Thank you for the I know you are but what am I comeback because you don't actually have a real response.

What's odd about it? Not one person denies it happened. Most logical people can speculate their way towards he was grabbing for his collar (as happens every time someone tries to grab jersey in a fight) and because Joe wears a beard that goes below his collar, he ended up with a handful of beard. Do you honestly think it got ripped out mid fight or when he lost balance?
You have a point. Maybe, but I’m not sure. I think I confused Backes with Kadri on the beard incidents, thinking he fought Backes while Kadri pulled his beard. So that’s on me.
I'm sure he'd have fought Couture or Pavelski if they challenged him. He's not going to trade 5 minute penalties with Barclay Who and Whatsisname Karlsson.
Sure, he will fight guys who can’t fight
Glorifying a 30 goal scorer pest? Sure, we'll do that! Kadri is one of our most important players.
This game he wasn’t, that’s my point. You can throw praise as much as you would like.

He absolutely did. Leafs are 9-0 when scoring first. They scored as a direct result of some random going after Kadri. Goal goes in. Leafs remain perfect when scoring first. Kadri basically won that game last night.
Once again, Kadri had little to do with the win. The Leafs are talented and they exposed our defensive flaws. That first goal wasn’t some momentum changer that Kadri started.
