Basically he’s a guy who they’ve developed and brought through the system and he’s a RHD which are hard to come by. Every team has their guy and he is ours that they believe in

Holl is good on the pk. His inconsistency and giveaways at even strength drive people nuts and he can’t fight. He was protec
So they feel obligated
Perhaps
Strange thread. If you have to ask why he's in the lineup you aren't paying very close attention to the team.
No he’s bad. Don’t let one game fool you. This fanbase always needs a whipping boy on defense, Holl has that dubious honour now
He's not that bad

Knowing Keefe, he'll either play him high up in the lineup, or sit himHoll is a perfect bottom pairing guy and that’s where he should play.

I have to say Holl is worth more as an own rental than what you would get in a trade.Playing 7 Dmen to keep Holl in the lineup.
Are they shopping Holl?
Perhaps Scheenn and MccCabe make him expendableHoll is good on the pk. His inconsistency and giveaways at even strength drive people nuts and he can’t fight.
Seems he's down lower on the list nowSpeculating, TSN has him #10 on the Tradebait board, showcasing him? If the Leaf's scratch him it reduces his value. An active 2nd pair 3/4 d-man is worth more than a press box, lower than 6th on the depth chart d-man
Ask yourselves would you rather have Holl as the 7th D in the playoffs or Timmons/Gus?
It is Holl for me.

The problem with statistical averages is that they often don't show the frequency distribution of all events good and bad. Sure he provides some solid performance but if you rank order all events good to bad, his distribution would show a long tail and that tail would represent catastrophic mistakes. Last couple of games he played ok but Justin Holl in the worse possible time will eventually turn into Justin Loll and it will not be a small thing. That is on Keefe for overdeploying him during critical timesProbably because he's not as bad as the people whose heads he lives rent free in think.

Holl didnt lose the game against edmonton but as a player, he drives me nuts. If he had the discipline to stick with what he was good at and not get distracted by a squirrel, he would be solid. Pushing up offensively is not what he should be doing. Plays well when challenged for a job....not reliable when he is not. Not the player I trust in the posThe problem here is that with so many looking to justify themselves, they end up blaming him no matter the situation.
He's out there in tough minutes so goals are going to go in. The problem I see is that if the goalie gives up a softie? Holls fault. The forward didn't get back to help? Holl's fault. Etc. Etc.
Some are obviously his fault but the level of trying to blame him for everything has reached comical levels.
I mean, absolutely pastes McDavid and answers the bell? He's a bad player as he lost the fight. That's actually how half the board sees that play and only proves the point.
Yes he is.This fanbase always needs a whipping boy on defense, Holl has that dubious honour now

Wow as Danny Galivan used to say "twisting and turning, turning and twisting the old Savardian spin-o-rama"The problem with statistical averages is that they often don't show the frequency distribution of all events good and bad. He is pretty well always in the lineupWow as Danny Galivan used to say "twisting and turning, turning and twisting the old Savardian spin-o-rama"
thats a pretty smooth justification of a rationalization
All kidding aside he's not the reason the Leafs win a lot more than they lose, but with him in the line-up they win more than they lose.
