Not sure he’s the one missing the point lolMissing the point. Yea he won cups but his stats in those finals aren’t anything special and 2/3 are shit.

If we are talking about just the 2008 final.Yeah I was actually tempted to include Datsyuk in that comparison as well because he did also have 3 finals appearances, but it felt super disingenuous to include him with his 2002 stat line as a bottom-6 forward. It just wasn't an apples to apples comparison so I thought it was unfair to include him.
But even taking that out, Zetterberg was downright dominant in both 2008 and 2009 and I don't think Datsyuk even matched that when healthy in 2008.
You're not wrong then. Toews was the best forward in 2010 and the best Canadian forward across the 2010 and 2014 victories.Yes, sorry Toews. Corrected.
This is true, as well as without some of those role players they had over the years they wouldn't have won all of them either.

It’s his alt account.Even Midnight has never made a thread like this before
Cool story, Oxford. You do know what the definition of clutch is, yes?
Here, this is from Oxford;
(in sport) denoting or occurring in a critical situation in which the outcome of a game or competition is at stake.
Helps, hope it does.
Don't disrespect DSP's 2018 run, unironically one of the most "clutch" ones out there and certainly more clutch than any of Crosby'sGiven his goals per minute in the Caps 2018 SCF Devonte Smith-Pelly was a far more clutch SCF performer than that mediocre Crosby character. I like judging clutch performances on two stat categories, btw.
No disrespect at all. DSP had me jumping out of my chair a lot. I was a fan of his before his SCF heroics.Don't disrespect DSP's 2018 run, unironically one of the most "clutch" ones out there and certainly more clutch than any of Crosby's
GMs are some of the dumbest people I n the planet though. They would be the first to parrot cliches more than anyoneIf you'd create a poll among all gms of all time asking who they would like on their team in a scf game, im pretty sure Crsoby would be top 10 at the very least.
Good thing we can look up how well McDavid scored in the 2017 playoffs. Oh wait, he had 2 5v5 points in 13 games and was outscored by Mark Letestu on his own team. You don't actually think he means that the NHL in 09, 16, and 17 were equivalent to the DPE, right?
Because I suspect that McDavid would have been able to score in the NHL in 2016 and 2017 as well. Given how he won the scoring title in 2017 and whatnot. And the scoring wasn't low in 09.
Is this also an attempt to show that 2017 was like the DPE? Or can I safely ignore it as just another silly attempt to make it look like McDavid isn't a good playoff performer?Good thing we can look up how well McDavid scored in the 2017 playoffs. Oh wait, he had 2 5v5 points in 13 games and was outscored by Mark Letestu on his own team.
Yes we can!Good thing we can look up how well McDavid scored
Yeah, but don't you remember in Crosby's prime when players were allowed to tackle other players 30 feet away from the puck, and to headshot people with impunity?
McDavid getting 1000 points and not getting enough flowers in some peoples eyes is the reason. What a random hate on Crosby post for "Reasons".
Weird to dig into this for some odd reason to what, discredit a future all of famer? In 2009 he had 2 assists in the finals and zero points in games 5-7, including the SC winning game.
In 2016 he had 4 assists in the finals and zero points in games 3-5. Two of his four assists in the SC winning game.
In 2017 he finally scored a goal in the finals coupled with 6 assists with zero points in the SC winning game.
Is there a reason why this propaganda floats around that he’s a dependable clutch player in the finals?
It's more funny Mcdavid fan boys like yourself are so triggered by anything where it's not more adulation for Mcdavid. You go to great lengths to diminish greats to prop up Connor. It’s just another false narrative created to explain why he couldn’t dominate individually as expected. It’s a shame, too—he’s a top 6-8 player, yet people still feel the need to overcompensate for him. Guy scored a whopping two goals total across 3 SCF wins and 19 games, yet is viewed as untouchable.
I've never heard them say Sid was clutch in the finals during those years. They would Sid is Sid and that he takes his game up a level in the playoffs and that he's a great playoff performer - which is correct. He is.I can’t say I’ve noticed fans or the media praising specifically his finals performances. Any examples OP?
Playoffs generally yes, but I don’t think that’s particularly controversial.
Maybe because he got gifted two Conn Smythe's.
Yes we can agree he was among the Penguins best players, but its quite clear that Malkin should have had a second Conn Smythe and Phil Kessel should have had one...
