Why are the Devils 21-4-1? insane easy schedule, makes perfect sense.

Our need for a winger was probably evident than Toronto needing Tavares. though They had a good 2C in Kadri already but couldn't trust him for the playoffs. The Palat deal might be equally as awful but hopefully the cap spikes as much as it's being reported + we can squeeze some years out of him before year 4+5.
I'm not worried about Palat's contract. There's a world of difference between what he's making and what Gaudreau probably would have been making.

Difference is Gaudreau actually would’ve been worth the 10 mil. Palat’s not even worth 6 mil today let alone down the line

Makes no sense

Not gonna lie. I still don't understand how this is possible. I had a long hard look at the roster and still don't get it.
I did also think that Hamilton made sure he was going to make a lot of money but potentially throwing his Cup-wishes far into the future, at best, but right now it seems like that prediction is rotting away faster than my initial take on Draisaitl's contract.
They have one of the best d cores in the league and one of the deepest forward groups in the league led by some extremely talented young players. And they’re getting solid goaltending. Not hard to understand.

It’s possible you just haven’t paid enough attention to them.

He’s played 6 games as a Devil. Love the player, glad to have him. Whether he’s “worth” it isn’t cleanly quantifiable and even if you think it is, we don’t have enough information yet.

You have no clue in the slightest how they’re gonna age and Gaudreau at a higher number and term is certainly riskier.

And what he’s worth isn’t decided by you. It’s subjective and clearly Fitz thinks he’s worth that. We’ll see how it turns out.
I think most fans certainly like the way he plays and fits so far.

It is possible that the Devils players are better than you think they are.

I caught some of the game today. This Devils team is for real. Ottawa had no answer for them. What is scary is that they could have scored more goals.
not gonna lie. They are getting really good goaltending from the teams they are playing against. They probably could easily have a dozen or more goals. It seems like every game they are robbed at least once.

First NHL team in history to sweep the Western and Eastern Canada trips.
Chico said that today but that doesn't include Winnipeg. They did sweep, but still need to beat Winnipeg for a CDN sweep.

Obviously Hischier Hughes Bratt Hamilton and Marino are all known to be good.

Then you've got kind of unsung heroes and budding NHLers like Mercer, Bastian, Siegenthaler, Sharangovich, and Vanecek.

Then there's the vets in Palat (who's injured), Tatar, and Haula.

But what the hell is there after that? Wood? Severson?

When you have 2 centers in over ppg in Nico & Hughes. A top 10 winger in Bratt, a dman whose near ppg in Hamilton and & massive depth to the point even the 4th line is .5 ppg or above how is it surprising?

Winnipeg always gets its own trip. Traditionally teams do all of Calgary, Vancouver, and Edmonton in one long trip, and then roll through all of Ottawa, Montreal, and Toronto in one trip.

I figured Winnipeg was a Minny and maybe Chicago St.Louis trip
