Why are the Devils 21-4-1? insane easy schedule, makes perfect sense.

Not gonna last, highly doubt it. 10 game winning streak seen this so many times.
Wouldn't be surprising if they would lose 10+ games in a row at some point of the season.
They are playing far beyond their capabilities + super easy schedule to start the season

facts are these; last 9 wins (in a row) versus
Canadiens, Coyotes, struggling Flames x 2,
struggling Oilers, Canucks, Blue Jackets
and when they won the Avs, they were
still underachieving back then, a lot.

+ two other wins from vs Ducks and Sharks

13 wins; Ducks, Sharks, Canadiens, Coyotes, Canucks, Blue Jackets,
Oilers, Avalanche and twice the Flames with Islanders and Red Wings

8 wins versus teams that didn't make the play-offs last season
and the rest 5 wins versus teams that are/were struggling/underachieving

smokes, mirrors, bubbles...

laugh all you can, ha ha..
why don't you mention the ottawa senators. oh, yes. they were your preseason favorite.

They should trade their 1st for Vancouver's goalie, that worked out great last time if I remember correctly.

Bratt, Hughes and especially Hischer have played well, but I don't think many would count them as superstars.

Dont get me wrong, I prefer the team game over individuals and have no doubt that this kind of play can lead to a playoff spot and a deep run.
Jesper Bratt is the superstar of my heart, just a beautiful man.

The Devils could still use another top 6 winger. If they want to make noise this playoffs, I would try to get Tarasenko at the deadline even as a rental. Adding him would make their offense lethal. They need players with cups and playoff experience. That's the one weakness on the team currently.

Fitz rightfully shouldn't worry about making a splash like that for at least another couple months.

I think New Jersey is now a playoff-contending team currently on a hot streak. I don't think they are this caliber of great... but they are certainly improved from last year. Average goaltending (currently playing exceptional), Marino being more than advertised (and also subtraction of Ty Smith)... Bratt showing last year was no fluke....

Things are clicking with a healthy roster.

Also - this is the first year where Huges-Bratt-Hischier played more than (I think its) 12 consecutive games together. So currently healthy.

The "struggling" Oilers, Canucks, Coyotes, Canadiens, Avalanche and Islanders had win streaks of at least 2 games and the Oilers had won 5 in a row.

You're twisting last year and this years results after playing NJ to weaken the value of the wins, like calling the Oilers a struggling team, because they've struggled since playing the Devils. Or pointing at the Islanders not making the playoffs last year and ignoring them being 11-6 this season.

Lindy is repeating what he did in 06'-07' with the Sabres. Taking a young, predicted bottom third team and turning them into a power house. He's an underrated coach

Except for the fact that this team has blossoming, young forward stars that have only begun to scratch the surfaces of their potential. It’s scary to fathom how good they are going to be when their already solid defense adds both young studs Luke Hughes and Simon Nemec. Wow.

Palat should be back around that time, I don't think Fitz is going to make a seismic trade during the season like a Timo Meier. Maybe someone like a Tarasenko but even then I'm not sure he'll go all in yet unless they're at like 35-40 wins at the deadline

They’ll hopefully be adding Palat back in February or March…so that’s kind of like a deadline acquisition in a way

I’d say a scoring winger ( like a Tarasenko ) would help a ton . Way too many times Haula and Sharangovich have flubbed glorious chances set up by Hughes or others .
Not saying they suck but a more proven player would be a nice upgrade .
Meier or ?
IF we make the playoffs , I guess we will see what we need to tweak on the roster . Maybe more physicality ?

Palat was very keen URFA signing, but yes some more seasoning would be a good recipe

Wasn't Lindy universally hated by the fan base a month ago?
Many hated him. Last season he had goalie injuries and all of his stars were hurt. When Jack, Nico, Dougie and Bratt played together they looked good. He got career years out of all the future stars.... so I think if you were reasonable you'd give him an incomplete grade as a coach. This year he has the team looking really great.

Reasonable for Devils fans at this point to have anyone and everyone on thin ice with all of the false starts the team has had.
