Did Burke do any good while he was here?
Bozak was a free wallet. JvR for Schenn was a good trade for us. Drafted Rielly which is probably by a long shot his best move.
Unfortunately the Kessel trade stunk.

Nice. So we can expand the list. Thanks

I think Schenn was a great pick but he was handled so poorly. Rielly I agree. I do believe that blowhard when he said he would've picked him 1st oaBozak was a free wallet. JvR for Schenn was a good trade for us. Drafted Rielly which is probably by a long shot his best move.

So you'd rather have, who?For the love of God - - please do not make the same mistake by hiring another spreadsheet gimp who’s never built a Cup champion or played on a Cup champion.
Meaning NO to Brandon Pridham.
I wonder what Poile would've done with unlimited resources. Here's a name: David Poile.
Did he really retire? Or did Nashville tell him it's time and he just agreed rather then get fired?
Wore his tie properly.Did Burke do any good while he was here?
That's who's at the top of my list if he's willing to continue his career. The winningest GM in NHL history and a Toronto native. Here's a name: David Poile.
Did he really retire? Or did Nashville tell him it's time and he just agreed rather then get fired?
Both Matthews and Nylander come up for renewals before Tavares comes off the books. Those will be the events that determine the future of the club.Don’t think any of them get traded this year
New gm will want a chance with an elite team no matter how much we want that
Things will only happen when tavares comes off the books
Maybe short deals till tavares expires to then cash in and not hurt the team
Basically WHY we needed a diff GM
I wonder what Poile would've done with unlimited resources.
Which is where the unlimited resources come in. Which was my point. He never really made big splashes though, we don’t have 5 years for him to turn us into a D + G factory.
oh I never thought of this!, could be an option if the latter is true!, he is 73 so maybe he did pack it in? also a Toronto boy! Here's a name: David Poile.

It what I’m sayingBoth Matthews and Nylander come up for renewals before Tavares comes off the books. Those will be the events that determine the future of the club.
Stan Bowman et Joel Quenneville,
agreed, hes my top choice if available. Here's a name: David Poile.

I think they could maybe deal with the Beach cloud of one of them but not both and Bowman was far enough up the food chain he legitimately wears more of failure. I did see somewhere where they thought Bowman might have to come back as an AGM to get another shot but there is still an aggressive contingent of voices who want him shunned foreverI would love Bowman and Quennville.
Any ex leafs rumoured? Gary roberts etc ?Hard to say. There's some obvious names and I hope they find the right person.
Tulsky is the flavour of the week but he's someone with very little managerial experience. More of the same to me. He would obviously continue the allure of a smart front office that doesn't rely on dinosaur levels of building a team.
Treliving seems ok but not sure if he'd be the guy to take over and make some very tough decisions. He flubbed a huge one in Calgary, but outside of that I think he's alright. Seems capable and has done it before.
There's like a list of 10 or so names that could do ok.
Should just stick with Double D and I think most of the forum will be on board.Dion Phaneuf is the next coach AND gm. It will be the age of the double dion.
No question, I’d take the Stan Bowman/Joel Quenneville combination of proven champions that won three Cups over a six year span.So you'd rather have, who?
