Are we allergic to pure talent??? I am 30 yrs old and all my life I had to watch s*** team based on « caracter » or filled with 3rd liner and GREAT goaltending. One of the only moment we will have a shot at a SUPERSTAR talent we miss again to draft a guy that again is considered a reach just like KK. What are we doing with so many 2nd pairing D ? We need pure talent, gamebreaking, jesus christ, I am sorry but tonight I am really pis*** off. Nothing against the guy «Reinbacher » but we again suffered from a long losing year to add a D that I don’t see 1st pairing upside in a Forward draft

I would had traded down with Philly to get their two first rounders.

I would had kept pick #31

5, Matvei Freaking Michkov.
69. Jacob Fowler.
101. Ethan Miedema
110. Cam Allen
128. Connor MacPherson

If Nashville was seriously offering us pick #15 and Askarov for #5, then I would have taken Barlow at 15.

In the first round in HuGo era, I would have:

2022
4. Jiricek + assets in a trade down to 4
26. Kulich

2023
5. Michkov
31. Edstrom

And hopefully Wahlberg at 37. I’d probably trade up to 32 to guarantee both.

EDIT; To continue..

5.) Matvei Michkov
31.) David Edstrom
37.) Anton Wahlberg
69.) Jacob Fowler
101.) Hoyt Stanley
110.) Joseph Willis
128.) Matthew Mania
133.) Carter Sotheran

Then I'll just stick with the Habs picks, they seem interesting.

144.) Yevgeni Volokhin
165.) Filip Eriksson
197.) Luke Mittelstadt

Michkov was my guy. I also would not have done the Newhook deal either. Sometimes hindsight can be funny, hopefully it all pans out and we can look back and laugh. I doubt it, but I am trying to stay a little optimistic.

Michkov at 5, but if he was truly off the board then I’d have taken a trade down with either Philly or Washington and taken Dvorsky.

The Newhook deal I liked at least.

Credit to Hughes and Co for doing their job in knowing Arizona wanted Reinbacher so they couldn't trade down. That's good foresight.

Unfortunately they didn't do their job in knowing who the BPA is though. f***ing idiots.

Michkov.

I love Reinbacher and think hes pretty clearly a sure thing to be a 1D.

Matvei Michkov is him though, Id pass on a 1D with size for Michkov. That should tell you how f***ing wrong the losers running this organization are.

Why not f***ing trade down to 6 then? Tell them, give us something, give us anything or we take him.

f***ing losers this organisation is. f*** I hate them.

Too bad it was never offered.
I think it's fairly clear it was offered but Habs were so committed to filling their perceived "need" at RD and knew Arizona would pick Reinbacher at 6 come hell or high water that they couldn't afford to drop down to 7.
