McDavid should have accepted it in person. Absolute shit move by him. He is the face of the damn NHL.

If the NHL suspends players for not going to the All Star game then they should suspend players for not showing up to accept a league trophy on the leagues biggest night of the season.

McDavid had a phenomenal playoffs, but it should've been Bobrovsky in my opinion.

He stepped up in the biggest moments while McD went pointless in games 6-7

Bobrovsky didn't look that good in game 7. Hell... he didn't even stop a single breakaway this series.

Florida for the most part played good solid defense tonight.

But... He didn't. He finally got his shit together after 3 weak games.

Won them games early in the series, played fantastic tonight in the biggest game of the season, biggest game in Panthers history.

The losses weren't all on him, the whole team made mistakes in those games. Meanwhile McD goes pointless in 3/7 games in the series including the 2 most important.

Both games 4 & 5 were "most important" for McDavid considering he was facing elimination in those, just as much as games 6 & 7. And the Smythe is for the entire playoffs. McDavid was dominant throughout the entire playoffs. Bob was not.

Oilers fans were calling Draisaitl the Oilers MVP after the first 2 rounds, he was playing better while Connor was hurt & seemed a little off. And Bobrovsky to his credit outdueled Shesterkin/Swayman/Vasilevsky on his way here.

Yes its the whole playoffs but the finals are weighted heavier or else Connor would've won it in 2022.

People said it was a toss up, which is was. This was a dominant, clear win by McDavid by the end of round 4. No one else on any team came remotely close.

Disagree. EDM's depth/secondary players showed up in bigger moments of the final than their 2 stars, meanwhile Bobrovsky had to be at his best for FLA to win in the final (outside of game 2).

Agree to disagree.

And if he did, you’d be belly-aching about how he cares more about accepting individual trophies than his dejected teammates slumped in the locker room.

They voted for the CS trophy with like 5-10 minutes to go. But, pretty clear it was going to be McDavid either way.

For him, of the other 5 players who won the CS in a losing effort, Hall, Leach, and Giggy won cups as players, so that makes the CS they got bearable. Hextall won a cup with LA as an Exec. Not as good as doing it as a player, but still, he did win a cup.

Only Roger Crozier did not win a cup will taking home the CS in a losing effort.

Is 100% considered a vast majority?
This is not true

Imagine being a backup goalie making close to league minimum, and somehow getting hot in the playoffs and ending up winning the CS on a losing team…

That would be life changing in terms of money making after that point.

I try to decide who is the worst TCS winner - Crosby 2016 or McDavid 2024? And I think it goes to McDavid. At least Crosby was actually on the winning team.
