I’m just curious
If there is suggestion for somebody guy left out, it should include who he replaces.

Sanheim would be a good debate between Bouchard
Toews Makar is too much familiarity
Same with Pietrangelo and Theodore
Parayko would be the likely omission

Laughable take.
Judging by him not being selected, true take.

It is a joke how Cooper is the head coach of canada and rolls in Point, Hagel, and Cirelli. No Tampa players or the coach belongs there. They have done absolutely nothing. We will see the truth when Kucherov isn't there to lug those dead weights around. A complete line of misfits on the 4th line.

This reminds me of Bobby Clarke selecting Rob Zamuner to Nagano. This time canada has 3, not just one.

Anyone telling me with a straight face that those 3 are better than Scheifele and Suzuki has no clue what hockey is.

I can’t tell if this is satire or not, but either “good job” or “yikes” depending

Bouchard doesn't have a role on Canada. He's not taking Makar's PP spot so he doesn't get to use his best asset.

He isn't strong enough defensively to be a shutdown guy.

Scheifele isn't good enough offensively to play top 6. He isn't good enough defensively to play bottom 6.

Neither are snubs.

Both would likely be on the 2nd unit PP, but that’s ultimately a minor importance compared to 5v5 and the PK. The first unit is going to get significant time.

Robert Thomas should be an option for Canada
The fact he’s not even an option for this poll shows how underrated he really is.

In fairness to TC and Don Sweeney tho, Thomas has recently come back from injury that kept him out for a month which may have impacted his chances.

I agree it's a joke, how dare a coach take any players on his own team....

It's not like they won anything in years!!

You know if they won some Stanley Cups together then maybe, but no way those 3 deserve to be there

Never forget Dylan Larkin made it over Tage.
Unfair shade. Strictly looking at the numbers for this season, and this season+last not only does Larkin PK way more than Thompson, but he's also been more productive on the power play both in raw numbers and per 60. I would have absolutely assumed the the former but not the latter. I also doubt many would hesitate in giving Larkin match up duties if choosing between him and Thompson.
It's just a stacked roster.

Both players are good regardless. The Americans built a very good team where guys can move up and down the lineup. Thompson would be the next guy called up if someone is hurt.

Canadians on the other hand handcuffed themselves with Cirelli. No way can he elevate to the top and play with mcdavid. A guy like Thompson or Larkin can go from 4th line to playing with Eichel or Matthew's in a heartbeat and contribute.

On the local radio station here that broadcasts the Oilers, they were whining and saying that Bouchard should be invited over Sanheim and Hyman over Konecny...

Then they complained about Pieterangelo being on the team because they didn't like his type of play.

Makar had to clear his ban from Hockey Canada with an independent investigation in the summer. I don’t believe Thomas has yet. I don’t know if that would be a factor or if he just hasn’t because he wasn’t asked.
