The Taylors. Good memory. Thanks.

lain and Redtwilight were two Edmonton posters from that early period. Redtwilight passed away. I don't know what happened to Darth (Darth Milbury, then Darth Yashin). I remember a few others like Sturminator, a Blues poster called Gassoff or Bob Gassof that banned himself after throwing a tantrum. Buffaloed took care of the servers for awhile I think. But DaBroons was one of my favorites from the Boston area. I spent the early years trying to trade Yashin away from Ottawa to anyone that would listen.

Still does :)

I have not seen him in almost a decade.

They used to post people's IP address back then. Newbies would drop by, open duplicate accounts and have conversations and arguments with themselves. You could tell by the IP and catch them.

Posts weren't recorded/posted by time then, you could cut into a thread and answer the poster by replying underneath (No quotes then). A large thread could quickly get unmanageable. The time limit on the trade board was 24 hours, then your content was deleted. Content on the Prospect Board was kept longer.

The big fun on the board in the early days was the many replies to newbies who would ask what LOL meant. Of course the answers were all lies ;) A lot of posters drank on Saturday nights and the boards often went weird then.

That's where I came from! Took 3 pages and me not recognizing the name of any of the other aforementioned boards.

Missed that Feb registration though :(

The Big Bad Bruins board had a lot of good posters back in the late 90's.

always thought Meister became Alberta . . .maybe because of the 10,000 word minimum in each treatise . . .I mean informative post..

"snicker" meetings for "coffee" "Later" - there were some belly-laughing threads!

being in upstate NY, was just a sponge getting Bruins info during the birth of the interweb.

like others, I lurked for awhile before joining, but I don't recall if I was on this board or the ESPN boards before under a different name (maybe both). Usually was listed under some form of vatman for a play on my last name, and obviously batman. It's back when I was young enough to think I was cool.

I remember all those great posters that have already been mentioned. I used to love when Jeff got into it with, I think, Bruins37? That was always fun. I remember another guy I liked to read was MeisterBruinMaker, or something like that. He was from California if I remember right.

It's funny how the memory works......Truly can't remember what I had for lunch, but I'm 99.9% sure that MeisterBruin's real name is Roger and he was a great poster.

Same for Bruins37, Jeff and a lot of others mentioned in this thread.

StockRocks was another.

JohnnyV, who makes an occasional appearance here too.

I dont go back that far, after the crash of the Bruins board. Dont post as much as before, life and lifeless hockey is to blame I guess.

Anyone ever hear from futureconsiderations? he seemed to have vanished as well.

I can't tell you how nice it is to see you all again on here. What a wonderful group of posters. :handclap:

I'm hoping a few more will start posting if we indeed make the playoffs.

The Bruins board on Delphi in the late 80's into the mid 90's was a good crew ( actually met my wife there  ) - but for the longest time I was content with the Bruins mailing list.

I really love this Bruins community and I just try my best to make it better for all.

Hello from the other side (real life has taken over, sadly). Fenway told me I needed to resurrect myself here. :D

Yes, I'm fine (a bit more loopy more times than not, but hanging in there). :)

Does eHarmony need to make itself aware of this?

I love this board, lately working from home as I`m in a bit of a career transition (that`s code for unemployed) as I retired my jersey in the field I was in for decades and am now assessing the next step so I pop on here more which, I fear is worse for fans here but it`s happening:laugh:

While this place can frustrate me, I am more than sure I`ve frustrated many here, I`ve been guilty of posting asinine thoughts/opinions, from time to time emotions got the best of me but for the most part, I try to be respectful and fair

I have found this place to be strangely supportive too, I`ve come on here during some struggles and found support/encouragment. Why? Probably due to quite a bit of anonymity outside of some knowing my first name.

Pretty fun place, good sounding board for the fans, sometimes a good sounding board when going through life`s crappy times

Older posters should post more. The board isn't so bad. Just a lot more opinions.

I guess I am a new one. Came in 2007 from another board.

Sometimes this place drives me crazy but I have met some very nice B's fans here and at the Garden. Also feel like I am old friends with some of the folks I have never met in person.

I wish we could have the 2011 cup run threads to look back on...sigh...What fun we all had. The fighting went away for a short time. Everyone loved everyone else.

I believe MBmaker grew up in Acton moved to California and family keeps him busy

Outstanding poster and you'd never see Jeremy Jacobs on his Christmas card list

I still feel terrible about losing those threads. Back in the late summer of 2015, HF needed to purge the database and we were told how to make sure some threads would not be deleted but sadly what we were told to do didn't work as expected. Since the Boston boards was one of the first to be done we lost everything before 2013 and there was no way of getting them back. Other boards were given new instructions but it was too late for us.

Compounding things the mod team was distracted by 'Deflategate' which at the time of the purge was raging because of court rulings and the problems we had from posters who disliked the Patriots made GDT's of Montreal and Toronto games look like campground singalongs by comparison.

Nobody is at fault for what happened - it was just an unfortunate event that happens with software. :(
