Knee injuries are far less an issue moving forward than back hip or brain issues. How do you feel about Demidov's history of knee injuries?
The question in either case is the likelihood of a chronic problem.

If you compare Levshunov with Karlsson, you haven't seen a single game of Lev. They are day and night. Here we go with the Bogosian talk again.
Levshunov is Erik Karlsson IN PLAY STYLE with size and better D. He is wild and running around all over the ice for better and worse. He will be a 4th forward on the rush and in the zone and we will complain often and loudly about it. But you’ll finish the season, he will have 50-80 points and you’ll say it’s worth it.
Everyone has this impression that he’s a “safe/boring pick”. He isn’t. he is an absolute wildcard and IF he actually improves his awareness he is a Norris caliber defenseman.
Not my comparison. It’s Pronmans. If you compare Levshunov with Karlsson, you haven't seen a single game of Lev. They are day and night.
I've done rankings the past two years and piece mealed player write-ups with separate posts. I understand and applaud the huge amount of work and effort that you put into your rankings and write-ups. People can quibble on some of the order with any draft list.My rankings are up!
Kevin Musto's 2024 NHL Draft Ranking
PROSPECT RANKING WRITE-UP 1. C Macklin Celebrini Boston University, NCAA [6’0”. 197lbs. Born on June 13, 2006.] Two-way center with a strong commitment to defensive duties. Good build. Doesn’t take any shifts off. Backchecks harder than anyone else in the draft. More often than not...forums.hfboards.com
Agree on surprised, but Lindstrom's back issues which hampered him have scared a bunch of posters. Backs can be tricky, and folks are catious because of it.I can't figure out why it is that Demidov and Levshunov have 90% of the votes between them. Sure Demidov is skilled player but he is hardly risk free and to my mind he's not the perfect compliment to the Hawks' roster of smallish speedy forwards.
Why is Cayden Lindstrom not getting more love? He's a tantalizing combination of size, speed, skill and snarl yet he continues to poll at 1%. I have no problem imagining him on left wing as Bedard's designated sniper or centering a powerful second line much the way the Oilers have employed Draisaitl over his career. A 500 goal career is not out of the question. Of all prospects not named Celebrini, Lindstrom may make the most sense.
Similarly, Levshunov is a first class prospect on defence but so are Dickinson, Silayev, Buiim or two or three others. Yet Levshunov is pretty much all you hear about.
Don't be surprised if draft day is full of surprises.
Pronman: How does 2024 NHL Draft prospect Ivan Demidov compare to Matvei Michkov?
While Michkov and Demidov are not in the same draft class, their somewhat similar situations have drawn comparisons.www.nytimes.com
Fresh off the presses article from Pronman.
