This. Lane had the best season since 1987 for a rookie D in the NCAA. He then did well in the World Championships against NHL and top euro players.

Until his brother does similar I wouldn't pick him before Lane. That being said; I would probably want to draft Cole, as well.

I already said Lane could end up having a better career but he's certainly not the better prospect right now especially considering their age. Lane had a good season but that wouldn't make him a top ten pick in a redraft. It's pretty obvious that scouts are higher on Cole than they were on Lane. That's not even a knock on Lane, just the simple truth. Like I said earlier, this thread is pointless.

I said scouts considered Cole to be the better prospect during their draft years and that was also based on being told Cole would be picked top 10 which turned out to be far from where he did get picked. If you want to pat yourself on the back go right ahead though. You've clearly been waiting a long time to make this post and considering Cole is 18 this thread is still pretty pointless. I can also pretty much guarantee that you've hardly ever seen Cole play.

Part of why Cole was drafted higher might have to do with Lane's success. NHL GMs absolutely love bloodlines...
