Aatos Koivu didn't get an invite, that's a bit of a surprise IMO. Figured he'd be there on status alone, but I guess the injury was too much of a factor. It's a shame for the kid.

Tanner Howe made the f***ing team? Ok.
Yes, while there are some questionable selections, overall one really can’t see too many gross errors in the assembled roster. To this writer the selection of Pinelli and/or Howe over Hage is puzzling. The omission of Hage must be based on considerations other than an objective assessment of these player’s comparative talents. But Hockey Canada’s decision to ignore the clamour over Parekh and not select him showed good insight as Parekh would have been uncomfortably exploited by the high end talent he would be facing in the WJC.

Tbf. Our top prospect is not allowed at the WJC and Hage should be there if not of politics. I do not care that much about WJC, it's a tournament that create more hype than substance. We had WJC MVP that flopped in the past (Poehling) and our top forward (Suzuki) looked below par in that very same tournament.

All prospect from 2022 are too old. Most prospect from 2023 are too old only Volokhin could represent but he's from russia. But even if Reinbacher would not be too old his country is not participating and he's injured. Demidov is from russia. Hage not being selected might be politic. Not sure about Koivu is he injured?

Chris Lazary was part of the selection committee and wasn't able to sway anyone on Parekh I wonder if he even tried.
Hage I get he still has defensive issues to work out.
What shocked me was a player I don't even really like in Brayden Yager was named Captain.
I don't like his game for some reason not that I see him all the time but when I do see him I haven't been all that impressed.
