For the hell of it I want to see the zoomy boi line of Kempe-Kupari-Wagner
No need, it will look something like this:For the hell of it I want to see the zoomy boi line of Kempe-Kupari-Wagner
Byfield could even start on the wing to take pressure off. Imagine him and Kopitar coming down the ice with Brown. The other teams better beef up their D.
If the season is to start late there’s nothing wrong keeping him up for his nine games and lending him to the world Junior championships. It would be interesting to see what sort of strength training and skills training a guy like that could get it at the NHL level. Even if he sits out a few games in between I could see it benefiting him in the long run. If he’s able to handle the NHL keep him up if not send them back for half a season of Junior to dominate that league
I'm trying to steel myself for the inevitable Sanderson pick at this point and time. Sigh.

And we have to consider the COVID factor. Who knows if the CHL will even start on time or what happens if they have an outbreak on several teams? In the event something like that happens I would much rather Byfield be with the NHL club to train and practice with. Would you rather have him be in Sudbury with whatever protocols and training is available if their league has to shut down temporarily again?
Dream bigger!
Kaliyev - Kopitar - Vilardi
Turcotte - Byfield - Madden
Kempe - Anderson-Dolan - Kupari
Interesting, but there is no way all of these young forwards will be on the scene during the same time Kopitar has remaining as an effective 1C.Looking at a lineup like LA has here....I'd rather have Stutzle. He can play C/LW. This would be a future lineup (not next season or the next most likely).
Stutzle--Kopitar--Kaliyev
Kempe--Vilardi--Frk
Fagemo--Turcotte--Kupari
Madden--JAD--Thomas

Do you want a playmaking winger though? I'd much rather have someone who can score goals there like Byfield. There is no reason he can't slot in at wing.
But still not as bad as people that use that use the letter u in color or flavor or leave a b out of Robbins
Most people that follow the prospects more think Byfield will be a Malkin type, but I see him more as Eric Staal or a less scoring Rick Nash. Nothing wrong with that but not what I'd hope for with what the Kings have in the pipeline. I see Stutzle as the better well rounded player with game breaking abilities. Can you imagine Stutzle setting up Kaliyev on the Power Play? That's like Patty Kane setting up Ovechkin. I think Byfield has greater potential than Stutzle (not by much); but Byfield has way more bust potential than Stutzle. Stutzle is a great two way player that needs to work on his shot. Byfield can score but needs to work on his defensive side of the game. He seems to be a floater most games I've seen and doesn't use his body to stop the other teams. I don't see that fire in him to be the best player on the ice every night like everyone says. I can see it offensively but he looks like a lost cause defensively. Just my opinion but I'd much rather have Stutzle but it's damn close.
If there was a clear separation between the two, sure, but I firmly believe that "best player available" is just a cliche that folks misunderstand and that in this case Byfield would absolutely top the Kings chart, but Stützle would bring everybody else up a notch or two. Its a tough call. A potentially dominant leader up top in an already loaded position or an unbelievably skilled congealing agent with something nobody else on the asset list possesses.
I would swing for the fences with Byfield, but I would have some serious reservations about it. Like, a ton of reservations.

The consensus on Stutzle is that he is the most NHL ready prospect in this draft. My opinion is that he is also closer to his ceiling than others. I could be wrong, but that's the way I choose to see it. That is also another reason why I see the Kings selecting Byfield. I think he will have more of an impact on NHL ice given his what he brings to the table. How is Stutzle more accomplished than Byfield?
Eric Staal has a 45 goal, 100 point season and more points than anyone from the legendary 2003 draft class. If that's Byfield's career path projected, I take him over Stutzle AND Lafreniere without blinking. You just made the case for Byfield stronger!

Byfield is now one dimensional? Where are people pulling this information from? Guess some posters know more than Mark Yannetti. Better reach out to him and let him know Byfield is one dimensional
I have never heard anything about this. I heard the consensus was Lafreniere was the only player they believed would be NHL ready for next year. All I’ve heard is people talking about Stützle remaining in Germany next year.
I heard some of the experts speculating that Rossi may be physically developed enough to make the jump and I heard other experts counter argue that he will have to change his game as he won’t be able to pull the same moves on the NHL size players that he could with the juniors.
Just because Stützle played against mendoesn’t mean that the quality was there. Every highlight I see of Stützle I see how he uses the extra 15 feet of ice to his advantage to slip away from players giving him the him extra time and space to make plays.
During his last interview I listen to he did state he gained weight but not 15 pounds. He stated that he was up to 89 kg which is about 195 pounds, so some gain just not the massive we believed.
I really like Stützle but I think he’s gonna have a hard time adjusting to the NHL if thrown in right away. Between the size of the rinks, the size of the players and the extra strength of the players he will not be able to do what he’s used to doing and I can see him getting knocked off the puck more than he is used too.
my other dislike about Stützle is really his shot. It does not look dangerous at all and that’s against German goaltending.
I don’t care if the kings pick him at two as that right in the area he is speculated to go but I do not anticipate him being a permanent fixture on the team and Actually doing well next year.
From a place where the sun don't shine? Ridiculous casting Byfield as a "0ne-dimensional scorer".
Maybe you two should get on the case and try to find somebody who ever once said that.
It'll be a hoot.
