Exactly. My point wasn't to denigrate Bob at all. But just to show that he is not infallible. Especially two months before an event is yet to occur. What compounds it is the silliness of another German prospect proclaiming that he knows who the Kings are going to select. If you believe that the Kings have made a draft promise 2+ months prior to the draft, I've got a bridge to sell you.

The draft truly starts once the Kings select since it's a foregone conclusion who is going number one. There is absolutely no reason to inform a prospect that he is going to be selected number 2 months ahead of time. That's utterly ridiculous. That's "smoke"? If This truly has happened then someone needs to be fired in the front office. Not for wanting to select Stutzle but for being dumb enough to leak the information to the actual Prospect in question.

Let's put it this way, if the team sitting at number 3 weren't Ottawa, would this even be a "story"? Nope. I'm gonna talk some shit, but this is the LA Kings forum, so too bad if I ruffle some Canadian feathers. What annoys me is that for 95% of the year, nobody in Canada gives a crap about what happens in the LA market and the Kings, yet everyone there knows more about what the Kings are up to than the locals do now?

Trevor Zegras commented on Alex Turcotte's instagram post, and Turcotte was also working out with Jack Hughes. I believe the Kings are going to now acquire Zegras for the rights to Tim Schaller and Hughes for Daniel Brickley. E4.

I love both players, and its hard to choose between either one. I can see the why the kings could favor Byfield a little more, We don't know for certain if Vilardi's back will be fine over the years, I'm hoping there will be no further issues because he's going to be a legit #1 Center no doubt I just don't think he's suited for wing, so for that I can see why they could take Byfield. Turcotte will no question be a #2 center, so Stutzle makes sense too, it would be nice to have a skilled speedy winger especially with all the centers we have. Either way I'll be ecstatic whoever we take.

I could see Turcotte turning into a Chris Drury type forward who is capable of playing center or wing whenever called upon, with the ability to pop in 50-60 points consistently.

Seems like many fans are down on Turcotte over his freshman season despite the fact that he was scoring at almost a point per game pace as a teenager.

He’s putting in the work to get better and I think he’s going to surprise a lot of naysayers next season.

Could very well happen with Turcotte. Could also be he ends up being a consistent 40-point producer and better suited for the 3C role on a championship caliber team. My point was counting on Vilardi and Turcotte to be a legit 1C/2C combination shouldn't dissuade the Kings from selecting Byfield with the #2 overall.

I'm gonna say this again, but in the middle of the season, Turcotte had a stretch of 1 point in 10 games. He was killing it in the first third of the season. Then he re-heated up over his last third. I won't speculate as to why he went dry for 10 games straight, but that he finished with almost a PPG on a super young team while freaking going on that drought with basically no offensive production, means he was cold kicking ass at the beginning and end of the season. If he turns out he's a kickass 2-way all situations 2C who skates like the wind or an explosive 2-way 1st line winger. He was my #3 overall guy after Hughes and Kakko last draft, so I was thrilled when he was available at 5. He's kind of being taken for granted at the moment because Vilardi flexed his muscles last season at 2 pro levels and we just won the right to draft anyone outside of Laf at #2. But if people think he's the 3rd best prospect in our pool, that's a damn nice pool to be swimming in.

So much so American programs have to pay big bucks to pull him from Canadian broadcast for the Drafts because their Insiders plainly do not match his caliber. I'm a bit confused considering Stutzle is an electrifying player and gamebreaker. Even to a point where a lot of Sens fans would rather have Stutzle than Byfield. Bottom line, Ottawa will take whoever's left but two great players here.

Yeah it's a bit ridiculous. Reading a draft preview, looking at the stats and watching a handful of clips on Youtube does not make an expert. Some already married their pick based on that alone.

Bob McKenzie had Stutzle as #2 on his draft ranking months ago. He has a feeling the Kings will pick him at #2 but no one really knows. We won't know until the draft either way. This changes nothing.

I trust the scouts to make the right call, I'm gonna be excited either way. Just happy they're in the drivers seat this year as opposed to last, when they dropped from #2 to #5 and basically had to pick whomever was left from the upper tier.
