Alright I need to go look at some more Stutzle highlights AGAIN if we're really leaning more towards the German. But who really knows. Byfield......Big, and can skate, with a better scoring touch and shot. Only 17 and don't even turn 18 till next week. Vilardi, Turcotte, and Byfield down the middle for years to come. Stutzle better be the real deal or else I'm really gonna do some home renovations with my fist. In all honesty though I think with all the upside of Byfield he may have the biggest bust potential. We chose the right one when we drafted Doughty lets hope we do it again. :skeptic:

It sounds like Bob is just giving his opinion, not insider info.

Well that inspired me for a bit of mischief...

Let’s play Risk Analytics for a spell, we got some time to kill.

The setup:

Kings pipeline at C:

Vilardi, Turcotte, Lizzy, Madden, JAD - All true centers.

Kings pipeline at C/W:

Kupari, Thomas

kings pipeline at W:

Kaliyev, Fagemo, Grundy, Dudas, Luff

QB Hopes n Dreams, in ascending order of awesome;

Dream of a Malkin, thrilled if he a Eric Staal, cope with a Carter, despair with a Brian Boyle.

So, the bust analysis on the second pair of options is you still got a real good core of C even if you play a diminished QB on wing for years and let him score goals.

TS Hopes n Dreams;

Dream of Panarin, thrilled for a Pacioretti, settle for an Iafallo, despair with a Wagner.

So the bust analysis C core is the same, you end up with a fast winger that racks up assists for years with that muffin shot.

looks to me like the bust scenarios lead to the exact same place; strong existing C core and a meddling W situation.

One could argue that if QB busts from a dominant C to a big fast W, we are served better than TS busting from a big-ice fast Impressive W to a mid-6 W. End of the day, big men still win playoff games, and that is what counts.

I’d go for the bigger boon on this one. QB.

If for nothing else, the big-ice vs NHL ice factor.

There is no way the Kings or any of their personnel in the know are going to tip their hand about this pick. The only way they let any information out is for strategic disinformation purposes. Can’t believe anything we hear until they are at the podium.

Kings do like stirring the pot. Dean introduced it to this club.

yup...not sure why ppl would say one way or another with any confidence...i like both guys, i think will be QB. fun to debate the 2oa rather than 7oa

I love both players, and its hard to choose between either one. I can see the why the kings could favor Byfield a little more, We don't know for certain if Vilardi's back will be fine over the years, I'm hoping there will be no further issues because he's going to be a legit #1 Center no doubt I just don't think he's suited for wing, so for that I can see why they could take Byfield. Turcotte will no question be a #2 center, so Stutzle makes sense too, it would be nice to have a skilled speedy winger especially with all the centers we have. Either way I'll be ecstatic whoever we take.

Great explanation I love and agree with everything.

“ LA might be a team that in my mind that might have more interest in a guy like Stutzle than Byfield.”

"Might"
"In my mind"
"Might" again

All in the same sentence. This is the most nothing speculation from Bob, that it might as well have originated on this website

Not sure how it’s the opposite when he clearly stated that based on his opinion, he thinks LA may lean towards Stutzle.

i'm not sure if both of you listened or are just going by printed word... the whole comment after about "it's just anecdotal, my opinion" with the wink wink nudge nudge laughing after from noodles, o'neil and bob... i'd be shocked if we don't take stutzle at this point especially with no hockey to alter an opinion.. i'd lean Byfield myself but I don't see any reason to believe King's brass is.

The only thing that would bother me is if we went of the board with like Rossi or Drysdale(both of which I would have been fine with had we stayed at 4th)

I listened, and there was no "wink, wink, nudge, nudge," in his quote unless you want to read more into it. The other hosts were laughing because they think Bob is being coy, which Bob addressed.

Byfield has Kings underwear, has been hanging around constantly with Akil Thomas, and wears #55 as a tribute to Jeff Schultz' incredible playoff run.

Time to head to Twitter to gather some likes!

LA is not trading down. Unless there is an absurd package on the table, LA will draft at 2.

From Ottawa's forum. McKenzie thinks LA likes Stutzle more in his opinion. Was mentioned above but here is the link to the audio clip:
McKenzie is an idiot and shouldn't be taken seriously...LA will regret taking Strudel if it comes to that...Byfield is the best player besides Lafreniere with Rossi given consideration
