Overvalued in pay too...

That too.

I like the player but let's not be fooled by what he is here today in 2017. A play-making No.2 centerman whose effort level wanes from game-to-game, and is overpaid by anywhere from 1.0 - 2.0 million a season.

The Krejci fanboys can cry all they want but that is what he is now.

yep, if he were wearing a different jersey and there was a thread about the worst contracts in the league, he would get a ton of mentions here.

7 million dollar guy who brings it far too sporadically for my liking, under contract til 2020/21......yikes

Prospects, especially one who are small and skilled and put up good minor league numbers but in no way project to being regular or impact NHLers, I'm talking about Koko among others. Yes you need prospects but I have never seen a group over value prospects like this page does. That said I look forward to McAvoy and senyshyn making an impact in the NHL. I would still trade Carlo for Landeskog.

1. Krejci - Great player on very good teams. A high end offensive player on a deep roster. Not a guy to keep around on a current team like the Bruins.

2. Smallish Skilled Players - The Bruins are now flush with the likes of Czarnik, Vatrano, C. Miller, Krug, Spooner, and several throughout their farm system. Many of these guys are a dime a dozen and do not bring the elements that NHL teams need to win consistently Krug being the primary exception to the list as he has a surplus of jam and a record of both regular season and playoff bad-assery.

3. Role Players - The bottom six is always chuck full of heart and soul type grinders and guys that couldn't hit water if they fell out of a boat. Three is fine, Bruins always seem to over do it.

This is an easy one for me. .
Patrice Bergeron. ....overvalued
Chare??? Considering his age. .. no
Rask ...he has lots of critics
Krejci...has turned it on lately
Marchand .... the best player un the Bruins uniform. ..not a franchise player though.

I'd say that overall the prospects are way overvalued by many

Several GM's and Coaches would tell you that if the 2003 draft was redone, Bergeron goes #1. Hell, Doug MacLean said today on Hockey Central at Noon that if he redid that draft, he's taking Bergeron at the #1 spot. He even went on to say that he is one of the most elite talents in the NHL and has been for quite some time.

Bergeron is not overvalued. He is a future HOF player and he will have his number retired here.

He has a Stanley Cup, 2 Gold Medals, A World Jr. Championship, and 3 World Championships. 3x Selke trophy winner, NHL Foundation player of the year, and he's still in his prime. I don't think another Selke or 2 is out of his reach, and I wouldn't be surprised if he raises the cup again, and wins another Olympic Gold medal before he retires.

You ask any coach in the league to pick their perfect player, they pick Patrice Bergeron.

That's below average for an NHL defenseman in 2017.

If it is, it's not by very much.

And let's not act like he's up against forwards who are significantly larger most of the time. Because he's not.

He's an average sized NHL player.

3 world championships? Think it's one, plus World Cup, plus... Spengler, for what that's worth.

Oh, and also the King Clancy. And two Masterton nominations, the first of which he should have won IMO.

I'm going to comment on your comments here

First bergeron... is struggling this year through an injury... but we all see that. No one is claiming he's not struggling. So when you say he's over value do you mean you don't expect him to return to his norm? Or do you say being the best shutdown center in the nhl while also a 30 goal scorer isn't value? I mean he's a fixture when putting together the international team and excels best on best...

Chara... you say his age excuses him... from what? If guys are overrated or underrated than age is irrelevent. As for chara I don't know anyone that says he's the same player as 3 years ago. But lots of people like Me say he is still an effective 22-23 min per night shutdown guy. Other people say he's 40... as if that has any meaning at all. People that want to say chara isn't still a first pair dman under rate him

Most people understand rask career numbers are the best of any current goalie... but some people want to point to his career worst season last year. Normally rask will be one of the top 5 or so statistical goalies each year

Underrated and overrated have nothing at all to do with a guys last 10 or 15 games hot or slumping. It's about what you expect of a guy moving forward and whether or not he will meet those expectations. I've always been frustrated by krecji numerous slumps where he gives the appearance he's coasting... but then I'm impressed by his hot streaks when he's very very good. Is he overrated? Or is he simply a money player that will frustrate us?

Marchand is playing his best hockey ever for 2 seasons now... but this is a formula designed for overrating. Remember overrating has nothing to do with how good or bad a player is. Overrating just measures what fans expectations are and how a player meets those expectations. Marchand is being called a superstar now and compared to guys like stamkos. Imho some fans are not going to get what they expect the next few seasons.

But at the end of the day our expectations have nothing to do with the performance of these players... and there's millions of us... we don't all have the same expectations. This exercise of judging players based on who is overrated is rather meaningless. We should just ask who is unpopular

First let me say ....of course age has much to do with it.if one expects the same out of 40yr old compared to a 26; yr old. . Maybe sports longetivity and the dimishing of the body is a medical fact..so yes very telling
Back to Berg ...I understand ppl love to love him and no one wants him to be touched.
Berg before Staal (the huge part of why the Canes have a cup) canes would laugh at that.
Webster??? The hall of fame r???
tsn "analyst"
Berg elite talent. .. how and where
He's a complimentary player not a difference maker? ??
Olympics Spengler? ?? I'm talking Nhl..
Yea many gms would like him on their team but none would pay big
Bucks as the Elite players get. .
