Jamie Benn with his standard reckless, intent-to-injure hit

Carlo's numbers were facing him all the way, to make it even worse. Hopefully Benn gets his before tonight is done. It was comical seeing him trying to fight Zadorov though.

Carlo back out for the 2nd, surprising given his concussion history.

Not saying the hit is perfect, but why is Carlo slowing down and bracing himself 5 feet from the end boards…seems Benn was like “either get out of the way or I’ll put you through the boards”
He's allowed to. If he wanted to lay down and do snow angels he could. Benn had his numbers all the way in, that's on him to not launch him headfirst into the glass. I'd be fine if he was booted from the game tonight with no further discipline (which was probably the right call) but only a 2 minute minor? That's BS

The league is consistently soft on all things, but especially hits from behind.

dude positioned himself fine, he can’t be hit there. That’s the rule. They barely enforce it.

2 is enough. Carlo deliberately stopped practically at the line to clear it out and cut Benn off from the puck or being able to chase behind the net. I'm not sure Benn expected him to stop quite as short as he did, thus he has less time to stop or slow down. Carlo intentionally made a decision that put himself at risk to gain advantage. Benn has the right to play the puck or skate through. Call it boarding for not having better control and move on. Expecting a suspension of any amount is an overreaction.

Carlo did stop up right at the goal line. Not sure I'd call that an attempted reverse hit though.

Has to be one of the biggest POS in the league.

He is genuinely looking to injure the opponent as much as he possibly can.

Holy crap! Imo that’s a great forecheck. Carlo has to be more aware. That’s all on Carlo there. Be aware. Take the hit a couple feet from the wall. And don’t try to turn back!
100% on Carlo. Benn is just playing hard and winning hockey.

Lmao all I see is a boarding penalty and thats it.

Severe overreaction thread to a minor penalty
Imo that’s not even boarding or a penalty at all.

Yeah, I don't get that take either. Usually when you are throwing a reverse hit, your feet are actually planted and your center of gravity ISN'T shifted forward, that's kinda how you avoid being launched when making contact, lol.

I just think Carlo was trying to stop to grab the puck and expected Benn to let up, and Benn expected Carlo to be continuing into the boards and didn't let up.
