Awesome for boat upholstery repair too.
My boat is a canoe, no upholstery to deal with there.

Should be able to get out for the first time this year Saturday, looking forward to that. The perch are apparently starting to run, too! Those are some of the best tasting fish around.

Sportsk.com is great for $20-$30 off retail and 2 dollar shipping in 3-4 days. Got my adidas classics and it’s legit cut like an old CCM jersey.

The more I think on it, CCM is my hope for who takes over the sweaters when adidas is done. They already cover the AHL, and traditionally have done some good work.

Unfortunately we won’t be able to avoid Fanatics apparel as they’ve all but taken over, but CCM would be infinitely better than a Fanatics Pro Line sweater

Massive sigh of relief after the Svech all star fiasco.

NHLShop Burnzie SS. Just need to get the patch stitched on and I’ll be a happy man

Fanatics acquired Majestic, a legit sports textile company back in 2017, and has been making game worn NBA and NFL jerseys for some time.

Fanatics replica jerseys are complete trash, but I'll be willing to see how their authentic jerseys are. It's not like Adidas made in Indonesia jerseys are the epitome of quality.

The Adidas jerseys are great quality, especially when you put them up next to the Fanatics ones.

I ain't optimistic. And will be buying a few more Adidas jerseys to stock up.

You can't compare the existing
Fanatics replicas to Addias, they aren't meant to compete with each other, and target completely different segments of the market. Fanatics "Breakaway" is just nice marketing lingo to say cheap. Remember the Reebok "Premier" replicas that came before? They were terrible too.

Fanatics has the manufacturing capabilities to make a quality jersey, as they do provide the NBA/NFL with Nike branded authentic jerseys. I'm in a let's wait and see mindset. Their fan authentic jerseys will undoubtedly be higher quality than their existing rep's, they aren't going to complete nerf an entire market segment.

The actual on ice apparel won't change. It'll still be made in the same factory by the same people, they're just changing the logo they're putting on the back and the design templates.

Where the impact is going to be felt will be the fans with merchandise sales. Their quality is abysmal. Hats, sweatshirts, tshirts, etc. Everything I've owned from Fanatics is cheaply made thin garbage that falls apart almost immediately. And on top of that, there's massive inconsistency in sizing and horrible quality control in making sure you're actually sent what you order.

I mean shit, I saw this for sale at KOHL's a month or so ago (this isn't my image, but I saw the same shirts at a different store)....

No doubt their fan merchandise is poor quality, but they have been the main retailer for that stuff already. So what's changing? Higher quality stuff, like the things you would find on Carolina proshop should continue to exist. They aren't the exclusive rights holder to all things licensed NHL.

The press release about this today is actually only around "on ice" player jerseys, which like you said will continue to be made in the same factory. Maybe they'll just continue to sell their breakaway reps, but make it easier for fans to get the made in Canada player jerseys for those who are shopping upmarket. I'd be completely fine with that.

The worrisome part to me is that Fanatics put out a slightly upgraded version of their Breakaways at near Adidas prices for the Stadium Series game, and the quality was still far worse than the 'authentics'. I am absolutely expecting inflated prices for inferior products going forward now that Fanatics is in charge of all of it.

Yeah, hopefully that doesn't happen.

I don't have the hate for Fanatics that many do, not that I love them either. I do try to buy other brands where possible, but I actually have a few shirts and hats that are the Fanatics brand and at least the ones I got were perfectly normal quality.

I did mention I got one of the lower quality Fanatics jerseys on sale around Christmas not knowing much about them, and while I didn't love the quality, I see after reading the ESPN article that perhaps that level of jersey takes things into account that I don't care about, but others might.

We'll see how it goes.

That's the point though, it likely won't, at least when it comes to jerseys. Carolina Pro Shop can only stock what the league suppliers make. The on ice stuff for the players will be good quality, but it's always been near impossible for fans to get those outside of gamers, so who cares? Adidas actually made the authentics cheaper and extremely close to what players wear, just made overseas rather than in Canada. Under Fanatics, the quality of the the higher end jerseys available to fans will almost certainly take a massive nosedive, and the only way to get a jersey that isn't garbage will be to get a gamer. Which is always extremely expensive.

Will they expand the ability to order the Made in Canadas? No. The production capability of that facility is extremely limited, to the point where there are periods where they can't produce enough game jerseys some years for teams to have as many designs as they would otherwise wear.

Given the backlash that seems to be everywhere, I do wonder what will happen with sales numbers.

I'm sure it will depend on what the actual product is. If Fanatics hears the concerns and steps up their game, the sales will be fine. If, as I expect, they try to charge $200+ for something barely better than what they're offering now, a lot of fans will flinch at that.

I can’t say I despise the Pro Line Fanatics stuff I’ve bought (because adidas all but stopped caring about apparel for years), but the standard gear is no more than print on demand trash. Horrible shrinking, misaligned graphics.

The hats have improved I’ll say, and it would be nice if they allowed us to buy MiC authentics vs the Indo ones. But I have zero faith in that hah

You just need to learn to enjoy that sort of thing for its ironic value.

Consider it a collector's item.

(also, that's really obviously a misprint that they're trying to hawk on undiscriminating buyers... don't buy your team gear at Kohl's and this isn't an issue)
