Begrudgingly voted 'other' without fully knowing whom that is. While it's becoming tougher to want to maintain the status quo, the options to be acquired all come with some kind of difficulty related to performance and/or contract and/or expansion.

Based on the goaltenders in the market who should we go after ? Are we better off keeping Freddy til the end of the year or making a move now ? I personally believe if we want to be a contender, we make some sort of deal now. The group is playing well enough to contend if we had a competent goalie in net. Campbell may be that guy, but it's clear Freddy definitely isn't that guy. Who should we pursue and why ?

I think they should have a tandem with Campbell and whoever, but the question is whether they can get rid of Freddie if they bring in someone else.

I clicked on Korpisalo but then saw Gibson.

If you trust that Gibson is just a victim of circumstances on a bad Anaheim team, I would think very hard about taking the all-in futures package and saving it for the goalie changing position. Fred will be gone and we can transition to a starter in his mid 20s with a great pedigree and track record.

If Gibson is a victim of circumstances on a bad team right now, what will he be like when the Leafs play like crap in front of him, as well all know they will at times? They need a goalie who will steal games when the rest of the team craps the bed.

You guys with Gibson puts you over the top. A guy like Kemper may be a dud outside of boring structure like the yotes employ, did in CBJ.

The Leafs haven’t been crapping the bed to the degree they did during the Barrie Ceci experiment. They’ve been surrendering point shots that seem to find ways of going in lately.

I don't think it will matter cause no team will give any assets up for Andy and we will probably have to take a bad contract back ... so just stick with him till the end of this season and after the draft play the landscape see whats out there an for what price !!!

If he was going to be traded, it would have had to been done in the off-season. I stated at that time, that I thought he was the most likely to go, simply because he was owed less as his contract was front loaded, and teams who had plenty of cap space would happily take it.

Now it would be very difficult to move him. Leafs are in a tough spot.

There might be a team who simply wants to exchange their problem for ours and feel they can massage Andersen as a project to regain the player he was two years ago. If I were the Leafs I would accept such a trade, even if for another starter who hasn't done well and is a UFA at the end of the year. This would almost certainly be a situation for a non-playoff team.

A goalie means everything to a team. They have to feel confident in his ability. Now, he seems to not be in the right mental state. His confidence is blown. A new scenario would be good for him as well at this point. I think the Leafs have the horses to threaten this post-season, they have to plug any leaks, no matter the costs.

None, remember Binnington came out of nowhere

We don't have the luxury of having good goalies show up out of nowhere and play well though. Closest we can get is what Campbell is doing now I guess. We have to go and find 1 year savior IMO or season will end early before we can make any noise.

So weird how you can look back 2 season ago and say Freddie is a top 10 starter to now where he's not even a choice for me out of 30 goalies to pick.
