What a trip down memory lane.
Remember “Hey Ho Canada Go!”
Can’t believe that never caught on.

Voted Finland, especially the Finns with subpar English skills. Yikes.
I'm mainly talking about the evening papers, Aftonbladet and Expressen. Yes, I have been in Finland and no, I do not know the majority of the Finns in the world as you obviously do. Sorry for not making that completely clear as I realize there is a big risk of misunderstanding.
I'll try to do better in the future and include a disclaimer in everything I write.
edit. disclaimer: When I state that I will include a disclaimer in everything I write I do not mean absolutely every single thing. If I happen to write for instance a shopping list, a disclaimer might not be included. This just to clear things up.
As you, probably, know internet (HF-Boards) ain't real life; and when onboard the HF-Boards ship you can be kicked out the mothership; and that in less time than a finger-snapif you're too harsh or merciless
.
But real life and live is another thing.
Because of that I vote - Sweden.
Heureka.
Maybe baby I may be right or I may be wrong - but overall Sweden think they are the King Kong of the North. Top dog. Even today. In everything. A syndrome from way back when they conquered Europe but the thing they (Sweden) always forget to mention and remember:
They always, always had Finland on their side.
Remember; Sweden has never even started a war on their own, nevertheless won one, without Finland on their side. But do the (Sweden) history books tell this story?
No.
Because Finland "belonged" to Sweden back then, they think.
So keep on pumpin' your chest Swedes ...and one thing more; you do maybe have the worst racist-forum I've ever read on Internet: Flashback Forum, with millions of members, yikes
.
Nothing to be proud of.
It's a shame Finns dislike Sweden so much. Been secretly hoping for a union again.
Sweden is the most internationally influentual Nordic country though, across the board. I'm not saying that boastfully - it's just a fact that bigger countries have more influence and a bigger profile. Look at England vs the rest of the UK, USA vs Canada and so on.
For example, a Finnish tv show would never get primetime slots in Sweden the way Solsidan did in Finland. That would be incredibly odd in a way that doesn't apply in reverse apparently.
Why would you want that? So that Finland decides to buy JAS Gripen and to boost the Swedish economy?
But I can understand if you want to learn about the Finnish school system and implement the same values in Swedish schools. Where your socioeconomic background should matter less and where most children get a (more) fair chance on making a future for themselves. Well, I can understand and buy that argument.
Eventhough you trying hard to clutter this thread with annoying posts, Canandian fans are still the worst.Please...
Well, that's your truth with some modification. Have you ever asked yourself why things are like they are? Beyond the size of population? Perhaps some deeper questions, like the fact that the British empire has favored the english population the most? Or the fact that Sweden compared to both Norway and Finland have suffered less from wars etc? Things that affect a nations economy and often the welfare of the population? Those things go hand in hand with other things, like popular culture etc.
I believe that Sweden wouldn't be in the mess we are now if we had our more based Finns tipping the scale for logic, reason and science instead of.. whatever the hell we have now.Why would you want that? So that Finland decides to buy JAS Gripen and to boost the Swedish economy?

Or perhaps just to feel the northern unity and wants us to be respectful neighbours who share the same values and identities?
Maybe ethnically, but certainly not closer historically. We are tied together by history. I grew up with loads of finns. My best friends mom is finnish. He was taught finnish in school and I picked up a little bit. We have finnish news on SVT, for christ sake.Swedes, danes and norweigans understand eachother. we are litterly the same people. so a union with them would make more sense. i think finns are closer to estonians .

Who pissed in this guys cereal?Okay, so if you are criticizing only those two. Which sources are better? Let me take a guess. Riks? Flashback? News sources that sympathize with Sverigedemokraterna or Alternativ För Sverige? Parties with nazi leaders like Ekeroth, Åkesson and Söder? Pathetic dudes who comment women and their clothes at riksdagen and behave like total immature boys from kindergarten?
Imagine that you probably think you are clever with your sarcasm? When you are the one here who likes to offer us preconceptions and generalize every nationality.
Let's hope I´m wrong here with my assumptions, but something says that you are one of those "Inte rasist, men" who likes to have prejudices, but can't even stand up for their views and understand that they clearly are nothing but simple racists.

Yesterday I got a ranting and degrading comment out of the blue from one of the veteran Canadians ( 40-50000 + posts) posters here over my not so perfect English, in the Sweden -Russia thread.. This is from someone who "sets the tone" here. He is obviously an arrogant individual. Its a shame theese (petty and small minded Canadians) are the main influensers of the hf boards
Finland and Estonia have the language link (and even then don't understand each other) but otherwise Finland is much, much, much closer to the Scandinavians. Arguably Finland is more similar to Sweden than Denmark and Norway are, I've heard Swedes make that claim themselves.Swedes, danes and norweigans understand eachother. we are litterly the same people. so a union with them would make more sense. i think finns are closer to estonians .
